Ive had this unit for going on 6 mos now and i have not had any problems with it, am very happy. I see the complaints about the noise, which i had when i first installed it, but after using rubber insulated hardware washers(designed for harddrive vibrations) this unit is whisper quiet. |

This is a good dependable drive. Not the fastest, not the quietest. But it works very well. I have a couple of this particular model and one has been running for over a year with no problems. My next CD/DVD drive will be a Lite-On as well. A very good value. |

Ive always had lite-on drives in my systems and never had any problems. To those who have, im sry, but doesn't mean ill stop buying them. Nothing is perfect, Ive had to sent stuff back before. Yes is does make a little noise. No bother to me, as long as it works you cant beat the price. Thanks TG, waited 2 days. :) |

Let me start off by saying I am not a professional and have no degrees in computer science but yet I have built computers and can comfortably diagnose any pc issue I have ever come across with that being said here is my review: LITE-ON is by far an excellent product, never had to call customer support these are disposable as far as I am concerned IF it goes bad you buy a new one, this particular product is OEM which means no software and now accessories people should no what they are buying before they buy... My favorite past time is to make dvd's (take this how ever you want to) I am replacing my old liteon which I bought at walmart for $30 this thing was like 4 or 5 years old and have easily burned 2500 dvd's..This is an excellent drive, both sata and pata drives are great, they will do you good and if it goes bad buy another I know I would pay $25 to back up 250Gb's(50pk dvd+r) if thats all it lasted. Just KNOW what you are buying before you buy!!! |

I have not used this drive fully, however, the price was right. The only complaint I have at this moment, and the reason for 4 stars on quality/performance, is the fact that it is so darn loud! |
