Introducing MILAN’s new cost-effective, enterprise-class wireless access point. The ShAir AccessG-Pro AP/Bridge is a 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11g wireless bridge that allows bridging of two or more wired LANs, to connect difficult-to-wire locations, and makes it possible for multiple buildings to share an Internet connection. The ShAir AccessG-Pro AP/Bridge has three operational modes: Access Point, Access Point/Bridge, and Client Mode. The Access Point/Bridge mode provides both Access Point and Bridging functionalities. The Bridging function is supported through Wireless Distribution System (WDS). The Client mode allows the ShAir AccessG Pro AP/Bridge to connect to other industry standard 802.11b/g access points providing a simple solution to wirelessly share network resources amongst a wired workgroup. In addition, the ShAir AccessG-Pro AP/Bridge integrates Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) technology that eliminates extra cable during deployment and can be powered up where electrical outlets are not available or cost prohibited.
The ShAir AccessG-Pro AP/Bridge supports enterprise-class wireless security features such as 64-bit or 128-bit key WEP wireless data encryption, IEEE 802.1x RADIUS Authentication, the new Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), disabled SSID broadcast, wireless client isolation, and MAC address filtering to block unauthorized wireless clients. In addition, the new ShAir AccessG-Pro AP/Bridge also provides multiple levels of protocol filtering (Ethernet, IP, TCP/UDP) to further ensure network security.
Enterprise-Class Network Management
To simplify and reduce IT staffs workload and mean time-to-repair, the new ShAir AccessG-Pro AP/Bridge offers extensive, enterprise-class management features. First of all, the web-based management interface makes configuring and managing the ShAir AccessG-Pro a snap. IT professionals can also use Telnet or TFTP to quickly and easily manage the device. In addition, the ShAir AccessG-Pro AP/Bridge supports SNMP allowing easy integration of your wireless LAN with your existing wired infrastructure. Above all, ShAir AccessG-Pro AP/Bridge comes with the ShAir Wireless Management Utility that allows users to remotely manage, configure, update, and monitor multiple ShAir AccessG-Pros simultaneously. These management features ease Network Administrators’ large-scale deployment or remote management problems.
