and a CD containing the program on it.
Technical Support Information: Since this is an OEM operating system
it does not come with any free technical support. Telephone technical support
is available through a paid service via a toll-free number and a charge per
call. The phone number is included on your packing slip when you order.

its a GREAT value...BUT i would not recommend it to someone cause it does not work..its missing a critical file that it need to install..but otherwise if it wasnt missing that file i would recommend it |

the Best Microsoft has to offer hands down!!.Ive used xp home/pro/2000..and XP Home sp2 is the very best.i tried vista and that was a nightmare.please dont ever install vista..XP Home is great.stick with it and you will be fine.as far as the activation all you have to do is call microsoft and answer some simple questions ( no personal questions are asked).and you can activate this time after time..a 9 outta 10 stars. |

Like several other users, I also purchased this OEM version of XP to run with Parallels 3.0 Premium on my new MacBook Pro. In spite of the warning in the Parallels manual not to use OEM software, it works fine and costs much less than a retail version of XP. Once installed, Windows ''Automatic Update'' brings it up to current status. Don't forget some sort of virus protection. Parallels Premium provides this for one year. |

Have been running XP for several years, wouldn't want top change OS so easy to use. Reliable& stable. Download fast and easy updates in less than 10 min. using DSL. But if your like me I usually build a new computer every year just to keep up with the times. I gave the value a #2 rating because no place in the info did it tell you that you can only use the disc once with the key-code they give you, when you are building or upgrading three computers a year it's not as good a value as it appears. Overall excellent OS !! |

Also got a lemon (and how many lemons must be gotten before they stop being ''lemons''?): after several reformat/install attempts, I kept getting a ''1 file missing'' message; a quick search of Microsoft support message boards told me that the error I was getting indicated a defective disc. Neither Microsoft or TigerDirect will take responsibility for an OEM version; in other words, I just lost my money. Big thumbs down; I don't recommend this. |

memory. For example, if you have 4GB installed, 32 bit versions of Windows will
typically report 3.2GB due to a limitation of Windows itself. Also note
that different Windows programs report available and maximum memory differently,
