Works great
Plugged in an old SATA drive and everything worked OK. I have a few old IDE drives I plan to use in the future. No problems so far.

Computer would not detect
Drives powered up when connected to the computer it would not detect the m. Tried multiple drives on two computers, both running XP and nthing worked. Called tech support for drivers and was told if the drives power up and the LED on the adapter lights up then I will need to return it under the customer satisfaction guarantee. Will return it and try a different produtt.

Worked as advertised
I don't have any dramatic tales of how the adapter saved my life's data as others do, but I plugged it into the only ex drive I have, and it worked just fine. There was nothing on there of interest but it was interesting to learn that the adapter is a handy tool. Buy it, I recommend it.

I was able to read both drives from dead computers
Computers get old and die. The data and pictures still need to come off the machine. I did not know how to get to the data. The OS or hardware was corrupted beyond repair and boot up. This adapter worked great for two very different hard drives...one from an IBM laptop and the other from an old desk top. All the cords I needed. Just plug and play once my Windows 7 computer found the drivers for the adapter. Super product, super cheap...you can't pay someone to try and get the data this cheap.

Did What I needed
The cable worked greatfor my purpose of removing a virus from one computer using the AQV program on another It saved me a service call that would have cost over $150
