updated from AMD athlon 64....since my original tyan mobo thunderbird died I updated almost everything from tiger direct...not one bad decision...am presently running biostar 6100 M9...granted not the best in the race...but am looking to get the dfi expert so I upgraded to this chip... first one arrived with one peg missing so no boot, contacted customer service within 3 days was up and running...Great Service....supprised that no initial speed difference was visable; downloaded latest drivers from AMD and still no visable difference...maybe when the new mobo gets here it will make a difference...I hope so other than that great purchase. |

I bought this to go with the GA-MA69VM-S2 Gigabyte mobo. It is in a Ultra Blue MicroFly Aluminum Micro ATX Tower Case with Front USB, FireWire and Audio Ports and Ultra V-Series 400-Watt Power Supply. I put in a Lite-On LH-20A1S SuperAllwrite SATA DVD Burner - 20x DVD±R Burn, 16x DVD±R Read, 8x DVD+RW, 6x DVD-RW, 8x DVD±R DL, 12x DVD-RAM, 48x32x CD-R/RW and Ultra DVD Labeling Kit (OEM Pkg)and 250 Gig Sata HD. I have 2 gig of Ultra 1024MB PC5400 DDR2 667MHz Memory. and it idles at 30.9 cel. Under heavy use it gets no higher than 40 cel. Everything went together with no issues, works great, and is simply awesome. I would definitely build another just like this. |

Good deal, Replaced a 4000 with this one. Overclocked to 2.6 stable and cool, idle 90, load 120. Reall good deal. |

Upgraded from an Athlon XP 2400, 1Gb RAM, and an Mx440 to a PCIx 6200, 1.5Gb RAM, and this processor. All I can say is for what I paid for it, this was a steal, the CPU idles at ~30-33c and hasn't gotten any higher than 40's. I'm happy ^_^ All my games run great maxed out now, all I need now is an AGP board to support my 7800GS and i'll be a happy camper. If you got a 939 board, get this to hold you off until quad-core is cheaper, you WON'T regret it. |

I upgraded from a single core 3500+, the dif. is noticeable. Not as much the speed as is it the stability the extra core provides.I am running it in a Vista Ultimate enviroment, with 3GB of memory. I had to give this chip a 4 for performance though, due to the fact it runs a little hot. I am recieving temps of 34-36 Deg''C'' on idol, under a prime load I recieve 50-53 Deg''C''. I know not too bad but I am cooling it with water I expected lower temps. The one good thing is while stressing the CPU @ 53 Deg. it has never become unstable. Good processor for the money, and would not recomend running a cheap cooler. Pay attention to the cooler reviews and listen to other people when they say it will cool this chipset. |
