WD WD3200AAJB Caviar Blue Hard Drive
Offering capacities as large as 320 GB, the WD high-performance
family of EIDE Hard Drive Kits is equipped with an 8 MB buffer.
Superior Performance
The Special Edition hard drive provides a higher percentage of cache hits
and significantly faster time to data than industry-standard 2 MB versions.
Within the complex operations of hard drives, the buffer is used to hold the
results of recent reads from the disk and also to "pre-fetch" information
that is likely to be requested in the near future. The use of an increased
buffer improves the performance by reducing the number of physical accesses
to the disk and allowing data to stream from the disk uninterrupted by mechanical
operations.

Great price Easy Install
Great price and installed mechanically quickly. Installing the Windows operating system was another story. There should be an easier way to resurrect a failed primary drive.

excelent for price
Worked fine to replalce original 10 yr old HD. Had really slow 8 minute boot. Now with new drive 1 minute boot. Win XP SP3. made an image of old drive and restored to the new WD320 with proportional sizing. Computer booted first time faster than ever. Has been working fine for 30 days.

Just works
I needed an eide drive and based on past experiance with WD choose this drive. It was easy to install and the utilities available online allowed me to copy my old failing drive contents.

5-star replacement drive
My SATA connectors on my motherboard were giving me problems and I couldn't find a PCI card that would boot to my SATA drives. So I went for this PATA drive with the one remaining old style connector. Everything worked perfectly and it seems this legacy drive is faster than the one it replaced.

Good value
Needed more storage for a legacy system and these were the most economical PATA I could find since everything has gone to SATA. Only problem was system could not recognize drive on USB 2 connection until I formatted the drives. Not a big problem, but should not have been necessary
