I agree with the opinion:

I'm not having much luck with Invion support. It took 3 weeks for them to reply to my numerous requests. Their answers are ''politically correct'' but not accurate. If you want a mass of information, you need to research yourself (try the forum: gpspassion.com).
This is my 1st GPS unit. After upgrading the software to Destinator 6. I'm impressed with all the features for the price. I'm debating whether it's worth upgrading to Destinator 7 or not. I'm happy with everything as is. I plan on using a 4 GB card for more MP3 space. The FM transmitter will work on the 4V206-IUS, ONLY if you have a power cord plugged in (AC or DC cord).
The MP3 player does not support .WMA files. syncing with Windows media player won't do you any good.
In summary: It's a keeper for me. I'm still playing with the unit to see if I can get it to do more things for me. As a GPS unit, I think it's gr |

This unit is great if you are willing to spend time getting it updated. As noted the software that comes with it is bad but they will give you a free upgrade to Destinator 6 software which is great. Unfortunately the link they provide (4v106.zip)for this has corrupted maps for Mid atlantic and the Midwest. This can be corrected by downloading the maps for the 3v106 and just transfering those maps onto the card. The GPSPassion forum has known this for months why doesn't Invion? Invion is sending me a DVD which should also work but I already fixed mine by the above method.
High res bright screen, spoken directions, MP3 and MP4 players and even an FM transmitter all for this low price. You can't beat it. |

I am having this unit for the last one year and feel great about it's accuracy and crisp looking unit. Somehow I landed onto this reviews and got to know about destinator software. I registered my device (exactly one day less than a year. 364th day). The support guy gave me a ftp site and downloaded but the unzipping was giving crc errors. I tried on several PCs. Finally they have sent me a CD with destinator 6. I downloaded the same to my SDCARD but it was not working on my GPS unit. I spoke to customer service but they could not figure out the reason and sent me another CD! LoL. I read in one of the reviews that the SDCARD should be atleast 80X speed. The inVion support should have told me this clue upfront. Wasted lots of time. Anyway now I have the Destinator 6 is working great on my 4v2. Someone told me that I can play my MP3 songs on the SDCARD to FM radio but not sure how? |

This might be a good unit, but if you need to deal with Invion customer service, you will be so frustrated you will want to throw it against the wall.
Got the unit, it worked with the lousy software, tried to upgrade to Destinator 6 and it will not work in the state in which I live. It would work if I lived in California or Ohio, but not in Pennsylvania. Invion says I have to send the unit back to them and they will get it back to me in 8 weeks.
I should have bought a Garmin. |

WOW!! That's all I can say. Looked around for about a month and decided to give the InVion product a shot. This is BY FAR the best made and most feature packed GPS out there for the money. The nav software that it comes with pre-loaded (CosmicSoft) SUCKS! No big deal though, register the system with them (http://www.invionusa.com/register.html) and they will send you an updated DVD w/ Destinator 7 for free! Also, you can download it from their website if need be. MP3 & movie player w/ RF Modulator are a real bonus. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!!! |

The GPS 4v206 was good till I got my free upgrade, even before the upgrade it doesn't have all the maps, and what's worst of all, it doesn't know the term U-turn, just makes you go farther and circling neighborhoods. Because of this gps, I spent my once a year vacation time with my 8 months pregnant wife getting lost in Florida, looking for a nice place to stay, and wasting days trying to fix the GPS! NEVER PURCHASING ANYTHING FROM INVION EVER AGAIN! A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME, my 1 week vacation became a whole week of doing nothing but trying to fix the gps, and trying to find a good nice place to stay that's not located in the projects, while my wife sits in the car all day. Don't plan any long trip till you're sure your GPS works. |

Here is the deal. You should know that most GPS devices run on some form of Windows CE .NET Operating system (newer GPSs use .net). It Controls the device and allows the GPS software to run. I will show you screen shots at my web site www.betteroffit.com Anyway, the GPS software that ships with the device is crappy but still works, however, as long as you have a decent internet connection, here is what you need to do. Step 1. Buy device, and when you recieve it, register your GPS with Support Plus at www.SupportPlusUSA.com. Step 2. Call, or email them (949) 273-8288, Info@SupportPlusUSA.com, and tell them you would like destinator 6 instead of the software that comes preloaded on your invion GPS. They will walk you through the process, and even stay on the ph. w/ you if you need. Step 3. You will be ready to use ur device. **You should by a media card reader for the 2GB SD card that comes w/GPS. It is necc. to upgrade to dest. 6. With the basic OS that comes with it, the turn by turn is dead accurate, better than a Magellan my Dad owns. location wise, it is off by around 4 to 5 houses on a rural road, city off by 1 or so. going to upgrade to the newer OS, herd its a lot better. (compared this product to a Magellan which was $400)Magellan is dead on for house location, but delayed with turn by turn directions. |

Well I received this unit just a few days ago and really like it. I considered other GPS units and tried out a few in the stores. I finally decided on this one, the InVion - GPS-4v2. After reading reviews of how bad the stock software is and then reading about how great the upgraded Destinator 6 package is, I decided to get this one. The other reviews were right, the stock map package is not very good; its hard to navigate through the menus, it resets every time you power off, and difficult to find locations. I must say though, that today after upgrading to Destinator 6, I am extremely impressed with this unit. Destinator 6 is much better and easier to use. I really think this is a great value for all you get. |
