I purchased two of these units. The first one I had to take apart and reconnect the two 500gb drives on the inside with the USB interface on the inside because it disconnected during shipping. I noticed there were fingerprints on the drive and the screws on the rear of the drive were chewed up (like it was used before). After I reset the connection it worked fine however. The second unit I purchased was fine but only had 935gb of total space not the 1000 gb it should have so that was a bit disturbing but in either case a few glitches but they work fine now.

All I can say is what a HORRIBLE device. It started to fail only after 3 months of use. I got an RMA from Beyond Micro and requested a cross-ship as per their own website. That was over a week ago and never got a reply. I will NEVER purchase a Beyond Micro device again. Buyer Beware - You buy cheap and you get cheap. I know of someone that purchased the drive and after several attempts at getting it replaced they decided to go ahead and open it up. You can imagine his surprise when he found two REFURBISHED drives. No wonder it's so cheap.

This product is great I use it to keep all my mp3's instead of on my internal hard drive. Now I know where all my music is and I can take it with me if I want to.

I just got the drive a week ago and enjoy it very much. I had to back up tons of music and documents and it did pretty efficiently. I even tested it with major data transfers, just to see if it could keep up, and it stepped up to plate. I was considering to buy one of their DriveZilla 1 TeraByte external hard drives and I called the main office and they really were very patient and thorough with explaining the specifications of the drive.

So far I've had the drive for 5 and a half months for my Windows XP SP2 Desktop and it works awesome. It's very stable and boots up instantly. It comes with the fan switch already set to ''on'' to avoid over-heating. It transfers files very quickly and has a sleek model. It's even cool cause I bought another one 3 weeks ago for my Vista laptop and works just as great.
