High end machine - Great desktop replacement
The ASUS is exactly what I was looking for. A laptop with higher-end components without going into the pricier gaming laptops. The screen resolution is great, clear and can be seen from the side. Processing is fast and quality build is excellent. The mousepad can be a bit quirky, is very sensitive, but I use an external mouse most of the time.

i7 Laptop
I have had a number of laptops in the past, this one by far is the best and fastest laptop I ever owned. I am not as enthusastic about the wireless antenna, it is not a powerful as others I have owned. As for start-up and operation it is a 5.0. Start-up is very fast but not quite as fast as the similar equiped MAC; however, I was NOT looking for a $2,500 MAC. The pointer finger pad takes some getting used to, very sensitive.

Overall a good deal and quality product
Screen is great and crisp, processor is extremely fast, and contrary to some reports here and on the asus website, you can in fact upgrade the RAM on this machine which makes it a more appealing longterm purchase. Keyboard is macbook pro solid, screen is super sharp even with the matte finish, and although the outer trim on the dvd drive of mine was coming unglued when I received it, the rest of the metal frame is solid. Looking at reviews, I'm beginning to think that the crest at the top of the touchpad nearest the space bar is purposeful, due to how many people cite it. A downside is I've had a few issues with choppy audio playback that I'm hoping will be resolved by an updated driver somewhere along the line here...

Great unit!
Bought to replace a desktop, and went for new technology. I couldn't get over the sound system it has for a laptop. Awesome!

Great Product but minor details
I love this product. The look and feel of the computer is quite impressive and completely enjoyable. Though I don't think I am going to use this computer to it's potential, I think it was a great buy. I was a little angry about the fact that the metal just beside the space bar was bent upward when I got the computer and the computer would not play music without lagging at first. The problem was easy to solve but I wish I hadn't had to find the answer on my own. Otherwise, its been a great purchase.
