Very good for the money. Building this same setup on my own would've cost a lot more money. TigerDirect is now one of my favs. |

This is a great buy. The unit came with no hints of a refurb, the inside is nice and neat and it just looks good. I got a couple gigs of ddr 2 667mhz and that was it. Graphics is fine for me since I'm not a gamer, but may get a new video card eventually. I am also getting used to vista and will decide on whether or not to wipe it and put XP on. Great value on a great computer. |

Excellent Machine for both Business and Entertainment in this price, If you need to install xp/2003, network card was tough to get hold of anyways here is the link if anyone need its http://www.marvell.com/drivers/driverDisplay.do?dId=103&pId=3 ( Windows XP/2003 x86 Driver (32-bit) for Yukon Devices v10.51.1.3) Once connected enjoy :)

Nice Bye, but:
1 gb is not enough for running Vista.
The basic Video card is too weak and consuming lot of memory.
Therefore you have to expand memory and change the video card if you need to do any thing more then just internet browsing and office applications.
Warning!
It is very hard to remove Vista and install XP to this computer. It took me couple of days to find drivers for the hardware.
pros: low noise level, usability is high, you do not need a screw sriver to replace the parts. nice looking.
negs: the blue light is too strong. the button for DVD tray is unaccessible then the tray is open. the unit is built for Vista. and Vista is not the preferable system for today.

1st one would shut off after an hour,2nd one came with a5432 serial #,but was actually a5404.The 3rd one works,not the right mouse and the wrong system disk.Gateway sent the correct system disk overnight.TigerDirect was great,even overnight delivery on the 3rd one,in time for xmas.Gateway needs to work on QC. |

Amazing piece of kit for the money! This thing came well packed with NO HINT of being a refurb. This PC came with a TON of bloatware installed, but I removed it all, added 2 gigs of 800 DDR memory and a nice big 500W power supply and this thing ROCKS. I upgraded all the drivers with newer versions and this thing is purring like a kitten. Very quiet too! Now I'm just waiting on my 8800GT Superclocked video card and I'll be playing Crysis in HEAVEN! WOOT! |

Excellent buy. Trialware was minimal and easy to remove, bumped it up to 2GB of RAM and added a basic 8600 card and it flies! The eject button for the DVD drive is a bit soft but this is a minor quibble. I bought this for a friend. Wish I had given it to myself. |

I was going to buy this unit but after speaking with TigerDirect who directed (pun intended) me to a toll number (I had to pay for long distance) for Gateway who could NOT definitively tell me if I could created the restore CD/DVD from the computer, I decided to NOT buy one. The ''customer service'' person at Gateway was rude and very claimed to answer questions when she didn't answer questions. Sadly, I don't trust this type of company when they don't even have a toll free number and answer questions with; ''it should.'' Guess I'll buy a computer that comes WITH a system CD/DVD so I don't have to wait 2-3 weeks (as per Gateway customer service) for a set of system disks that they charge for EVEN if the computer arrives DOA. I guess I'm not that much of a risk taker. |

I bought this, set it up, rebooted vista to dump the trialware. It rocks!! You can't buy the components for the price you pay. I added 2 GB of memory for a total of 3. Onboard graphics works fine for me since I'm not a gamer. Only drawback was transfering files to new machine. Windows ''Easy Transfer'' sucks!! Tiger Rocks!! |

This is the 2nd machine I got from TigerDirect!! Vista runs faster on this AMD 64 X2 then some of the other processors I've tried (comparable to XP). Only thing bothers me is the DVDRW door, when it's opened, it blocks the button, and you can't squeeze your finger back in to press/close it, gotta push the disk tray to close it. |
