This is a really great projector at this price point, the picture is amazing. If you have a dark room and dont have to fight any lighting go ahead and buy it. The only con is, you need to decide where your going to put it very carefully. The zoom on it is limited.

I had an experience with an Epson (1705c), a BenQ (Mp730) and now with this (Mitsubishi HC1500). Let me tell you that there's a HUGE difference between the first two and the Mitsubishi one. This machine makes my house a real cinema! The colors are wonderful. I don't know if there are better projectors (which I do believe at a price of 2,000 or more) but I didn't want to spend more than 1,000 (and this costs $999.99 :-)).
I'm super-pleased with that machine, as well as the treatment I had in Tigerdirect.
Oh! I forgot: Thank you all guys for your really useful postings here!

I hate to glow about my first video projector but I must!! I did my research and payed attention personal reviews. When I got this from Tiger a week ago, it took only a couplemof days to arrive. The setup on this unit was quick and logical. I have it hanging from my ceiling about 10feet away from the wall. My ''screen'' size is 72'' x 40.5'' and the projector is almosrt right overhead. It is whisper quiet and is NOT noticeable, even in 2000 lamp/hr mode. I say ''screen'' because i've read a lot of reviews on the DLP's that say you can get a great picture quality on a plain white wall, and they are right. Someday i might add a real screen, but it is great enought, as is. My main two video sources are DishTV (not HiDef) and 480p componet source. So both are not HiDef but both look great. DVD's based on newer films look crystal clear and razer sharp. Older films that might not have been remastered still look good. It has a natural ''film' feel. It still has a picture better than most cin

Color is awsome, crystal clear, even project on my white wall. This can go up to 150''-200''... it is a theater not a TV.
TIPS: How I convinced mywife, so you can.
Cost adjustmet, compare to Mitsub. 75'' $3500. single box. However, my theater system projecor 1,000 + DVD burner&chnnels $250 (or satt box or digital box have HDMI)then save $0 + 5.1-7.1 true suround sound system $250-$500 (can blow up me from my chair) . Total $1,500.
* Help my wife do presentation, connect to the laptop computer easier than 1,2,3.
* Cannon xti, Photograph and play though USB or Vidport. WOW!
*I can use this projector on the road, video my volleyball training and play on the wall or play movie,.... endless things.
I made a right choice.
BUY IT! and YOU WILL LOVE IT.

Extreme easy setup, you could twist and turn the picture to correct all misfits. Very bright and excellent picture quality, also for action movies.
It's what you would expect from a ''home theater'' taking the theater quality and experience home.
Everyone that sees it the first time says: WOW!
I was first a bit hesitating as the price is quite high, but it's worth every cent. I never regret that I buy this unit. Even though watching a movie cost about 50cent per hour for the lamp.
It's not a replacement for a TV, it's replacing going in a cinema.
The units has now 980 hours and still works great
My advice: Buy it!!

I was worried, initially, that it wouldn't be bright enough and that a 1080i signal wouldn't look very crisp on a 720p native projector. I was wrong! It has surpassed my expectations. HD signals look amazing. I'm using the projector with Windows XP Pro, BeyondTV 4, and a Visiontek TV Wonder HD 650 HDTV Tuner card. I couldn't be happer with the setup.

I debated over a 720P Projector vs an LCD screen. I figured for the same money, I could have an 84 inch screen vs 42'' or 46''. Boy am I glad! The Sharp AQUOS is pretty, but not as dramatic as this!
This unit is great! I have an open room (no blinds) and in full daylight, it is acceptable, but at night, it is awesome!! The first movie I viewed, The Incredibles, was very clear and accurate. Great colors and very fine detail. No blur even with fast motion.
Has a 12vdc trigger for my electric drop down screen, and plenty of light for evening/night viewing. I have it connected via HDMI to a DVD/Recorder/Tuner and TV is very good on HD channels. Ceiling mounted pointing down to the Elite Spectrum screen.
I highly recommend this unit for small to medium theaters and general TV. Great price/performance ratio!

I upgraded to this unit from an optoma HD projector at the same price. The optoma had bad scan lines and was really dark. This mitsubishi is a light cannon. It really looks great and is very bright. I'm very pleased with the build quality, usability of the menus, and the picture quality. I highly recommend it.
