Bought this so I can easily move drives around as I use them as backup media as opposed to DVD-Rs etc as I find they fail faster then HDDs. Only issue I have is the built in fans die fast!! 1 month of running and they are grinding like crazy!! Also would like a little more breathing room for air flow on the vents as you can tell the fans struggle with on the doors closed.

The product is a great idea especially for backups. The reason for the poor score: Bought 2 of these units and within 6 months 1 bay quit working in one unit and 2 bays quit working in the other. I would look for a better brand.

I have one of these at home and at work. Makes it easy and quick to add drives or to copy files or to swap drives and boot up with a different operating system.

I got two of these to build a home opensolaris NAS box. I like the cages except for the fact that the model I received takes 3 mini 4 pin power adapters to run the indicator lights and fans. The old cages (pictured) used a single molex connector for the entire cage. It makes for messy wiring because now I have to use their 4 pin molex to sata power converters with the mini 4 pin hanging off it rather than my 6 sata power connections from the power supply.
Not a big deal but an annoyance.

Simple and easy to use, overall a great product. The only criticism I have is that both fans started making noise within and required replacement in the first 3 weeks.
