This fan-heatsink works as well as any. My OCed CPU (E7600) is running at 3.93GHz. At idle, 35C and maxed it's 45C. Excellent product and does its job. For the price, it can't be beat! |

I bought this for a budget gaming rig. It keeps the E7500 Core 2 Duo processor at the low 30's. i think thats great considering that i play some of the demanding games like far cry and GTA IV |

been using this heat sink now for a few months and i am super satisfied with it. it does an excelent job keeping my cpu (q6600 quad core) cool to 35 deg c. at 25-75% load... very stable temps |

Been using this for 2 months now. Runs silent and keeps my 3.0 dhz duel core way cooler than the stock fan heatsink. Installation for a socket 775 does require that you remove the motherboard to replace the bracket for the screw posts but is a small price to pay for real screws, plactic pushin pins are a pain in the butt and are unreliable. Zero instructions or paperwork in package but if you are careful or have a bit of know how the process is easy, took me 30 min to disconect, install and boot the PC back up. FYI thermal paste is included in the package. Would buy again. |

I built a new system last year and wanted a good heat sink to protect my new Q6600. I read good reviews on the 8WA741 and ordered it. The thing was huge. It went on nicely though (spring loaded screws, not cheap plastic pins). It kept my CPU below 40C under all loads, so I was very happy.
After a little over a year it started making noise, and the CPU temp started rising. I went looking for another cooler before the fan cut out completely, but couldn't find another as good and the price had dropped $10 in the year since I built the system. So I'm giving Masscool a second chance. Replacement was easy with the spring loaded screws. I may have gotten lucky, but I didn't even have to pull the mainboard. Now my system is nice and quiet again and I'm back to running full loads under 40C. I'm happy now, but if I have to replace it again next year I'll have to go with something else. |
