This is a tough and sophisticated burner. I just love it's performance. It's fast and can be noisy at times. Over all it's a great product. |

I bought one of these in mid-2007 when a Pioneer burner failed. It's a superb drive. Holds up well under heavy use, works fine with Nero 7 and 8 (full licensed versions), and with every blank media disc I've fed it, from DVD+/-R/DL to CD-R/RW. |

I think this model is the next generation up from the Plextor PX-708A which I bought in AUG 2004. The PX-708A has performed flawlessly for me. Before the Plextor, I had Sony, and many other good name brands. But now, I'm spoiled. It's like buying a Honda -- you never go back to anything else.
The price is competitive to other good name brands. Usually Plextor's feature set pushes the envelope. I can't speak highly enough of the quality. I usually gauge performance by ''does it do the job by the rated speed and file formats.'' Yes Plextor does (even DVD-RAM works great).
Overall, let me just say that I'll never buy any other brand at this particular price/performance break. Being able to have confidence in the reliability and longevity of a product is well worth your hard earned dollar. Kudos Plextor.
