Customer Reviews
Bought two of these to make my first RAID0 array. Very fast and very quiet. And when I say quiet I mean silent. I literally cannot hear them churning like I could my old EIDE drive (WD also, of course). Maybe the reviewer from 3/02 needs some better mounting hardware (they DO make rubber stand-offs for mounting HDs). Mine are on the soft plastic rails provided by the Ultra X-Blaster case and I cannot hear them. I will be getting a third of these for 3-way RAID0.
*EDIT: Updating this review on September 2011 and just wanted to say that I've actually been running these in RAID0 for two years, no problems, no reformats or recreating the RAID0. They have been reading/writing data for two and a half years straight and still bangin. These drives are BOSS, period. If you want to set up a cheap RAID5 I'd recommend picking up a few of these.
very nice!
i have been running two of these drives for over a year now. rock solid performance used for gaming in a raid 0 config my win experience rating is a 7.6 cant go wrong with WD
best product excellent very fast performance

fast and reliable
I have 2 of these hooked up since march 2009 no problem at all super fast, you wait for nothing highly recomended.
Disappointed with Failures
I've always been a die hard WD guy but these drives may have driven me away. One of them was shot when I got it new so I had to go through the painful process of submitting and RMA, etc. Now one I have in use is showing signs of failure and will have to be replaced before going down for good. I think I'm going to jump over to Seagate and try my luck there.
