THIS PRODUCT SHIPS IN OEM PACKAGING -
GO GREEN AND SAVE GREEN
Manufacturers sometimes offer discounts when large quantities of products are purchased without fancy, colorful, retail packaging. We take advantage of these opportunities to bring you the same quality, retail product at a lower price. Retail packaging is designed to look good on a store shelf and attract your attention. It frequently includes more paper, plastic and cardboard than needed. OEM packaging is not as visually attractive but is far more economical and because OEM packaging uses less paper, plastic, ink and cardboard it creates less waste and is better for the environment. Although OEM packaged product ships in a plain white or brown box you can be assured it is the same quality product as the retail packaged version. Buying OEM packaged products saves you money and helps save the planet…GO GREEN AND SAVE GREEN. Included accessories, software, documentation, and manufacturer warranties on OEM products may vary from retail versions. Please review our detailed specifications and photo gallery for included accessories and see below for warranty information.

This phone represents a very good value if you're looking for basic communication (voice & text). The only problem I experienced was that setup was somewhat counter-intuitive (probably had something to do with the fact that this was my first Nokia). Otherwise, I'm very happy with the purchase.

This is a great phone, out in 2005. A little on the wider side, but very sturdy. Accidentally threw it at the wall pretty hard - only time in 3 years - and I expected it to be busted like my old M******a phones. But it still works fine, albeit a nick in the paint. Many features, and I love the camera.

Excellent phone, I have had one for two years, love it. Stainless steel, great reception, voices sound like they are right next to you. Camera is great, chunky but I like to hold something not have it slip out of my fingers. Calender is great, software for pda will not give you everything you can get now, but it is solid, unlike the plastic they are peddling now. Plus it was ahead of it's time then.
Bluetooth wireless technology is a short-range communications technology
intended to replace the cables connecting portable and/or fixed devices while
maintaining high levels of security. The key features of Bluetooth technology
are robustness, low power, and low cost.
It’s more than seeing. It’s
believing.
Before wires, everything was wireless. Nature found ways to connect it
all—often on a very mysterious frequency. Bluetooth wireless technology
takes its prompt from nature: harmonious, intuitive, seamless. Products with
Bluetooth wireless technology communicate with a sense of purpose and
elegant efficiency. Today, Bluetooth wireless technology can eliminate
wires. In the future, it may make the word “wireless” entirely obsolete.
By then, Bluetooth freedom will be second nature.
Designed to make connectivity invisible and
reliable. A perfect convergence of extraordinary technology and elegant
simplicity. Hundreds of companies are on board. Thousands of engineers have
contributed. Standards have been set. Specifications have been approved.
More than one billion devices are in use. And people are experiencing just
how far they can go.
It’s integrating every dimension of
productivity.
Where do we work? Desk. Sofa. Car. Hotel. Kitchen. Plane. Yard. It’s not one
location; it’s everywhere. It’s not one application; it’s many. With
Bluetooth wireless technology, our options are endless. It’s where we’d most
expect it and where we’d least expect it—and everywhere in between. It
adapts to how we work and how we live, transforming everyday tasks into
everyday solutions. Surprising, nimble, ubiquitous. Seeking new applications
and finding new opportunities—everywhere we turn.
Technically,
Bluetooth is a specification for the use of low-power radio communications to wirelessly link phones, computers and other network devices over short distances. The name "Bluetooth" is borrowed from Harald Bluetooth, who was a king in Denmark more than 1,000 years ago
(Computer people choose the strangest names!). Bluetooth technology was designed primarily to support simple wireless networking of personal consumer devices and peripherals, including cell phones, PDAs,
and wireless headsets.
What Is GSM? Today's Wireless Revolution is being
achieved through the GSM family of wireless technology platforms
- today's GSM, GPRS, EDGE & 3GSM.
It is the basis of a powerful family of platforms for the future
- providing a direct link into next generation solutions
including GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) EDGE (Enhanced
Data for GSM Evolution) and 3GSM.
GSM's unrivalled success can be attributed to many factors,
including the unparalleled co-operation and support between all
those supplying, running and exploiting the platform. It is
based upon a true end-to-end solution, from infrastructure and
services to handsets and billing systems.
GSM is a standard that embraces all areas of technology,
resulting in global, seamless wireless services for all its
customers. It's all part of the Wireless Evolution.
GSM (Global System for Mobile
communications) is the technology that underpins most of the
world's mobile phone networks. The GSM platform is a hugely
successful wireless technology and an unprecedented story of
global achievement and cooperation. GSM has become the world's
fastest growing communications technology of all time and the
leading global mobile standard, spanning 214 countries. Today, GSM technology is in use by more
than one in five of the world's population - by June 2006 there
were over 2 billion GSM subscribers, representing approximately
80% of the world's cellular market. The growth of GSM continues
unabated with almost 400 million new customers in the last 12
months. The progress hasn't stopped there. Today's
GSM platform is living, growing and evolving and already offers
an expanded and feature-rich 'family' of voice and multimedia
services.
Before You Buy, Please
Note:
All of our unlocked GSM phones come from around the globe. As such, features and accessories may vary. Some require US adapters. In some cases, language needs to be reset to English from the default language through manually setting
the language option on the phone.
What are GSM and GPRS?
GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) has become the most successful global mobile technology for mobile phones and digital cellular networks with more than one billion subscribers. GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) brings the possibility of data services and applications based on Internet Protocol (IP) to GSM mobile networks. In current network implementations, GPRS data transfer speeds are between 30 to 40 Kbit/s.
What do GSM and GPRS do?
GSM is designed to deliver high-quality and secure mobile voice and data services to mobile users. Its success is based
on its inherent support for roaming and interoperability across a number of different networks and across a number of
different countries. GSM is available on multiple frequency bands globally and offers the widest selection of mobile
services and mobile terminals currently available.
GPRS enables fast connections through which information can be sent and received as the need arises, without having to wait for a dial-up modem to establish a connection. This is why GPRS devices are sometimes referred to be as being an 'always online' technology. And because pricing is often based on the amount of data transferred rather than the connection time, this has made GPRS applications such as email popular with small and large businesses around the world.
Benefits of GSM & GPRS
International standard - one and the same mobile phone works across continents
International roaming capability for professionals travelling overseas
Well established interoperability of GSM/GPRS devices and networks
What is Java?
Java is a software technology developed to provide a common base for running applications across a wide variety of computing platforms. It consists of a programming language and a run-time environment.
Java applications can run on servers, personal computers, mobile phones and other devices. Because the capabilities of these computing platforms vary, Java has evolved into 3 editions:
1.) Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) - for high-end business machines
2.) Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE) - for personal computers
3.) Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) - for smaller handheld devices such as mobile phones and PDAs
The Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) is a key element of the J2ME, defining a platform for dynamic networked applications. Developers using MIDP can write applications once, then deploy them to a wide variety of mobile devices.
MIDP has been widely adopted as the platform of choice for mobile applications.
How does it work?
Software written in Java is independent of operating systems, as the instructions are interpreted in the computer at the time when the software is run, not beforehand. Every computer or device that runs a Java application must
have a Java Virtual Machine that adapts the application code for the specific device and before executing it.
