A resistive touchscreen panel is a technology composed of several layers, the layers that allow control of positioning are two thin, electrically conductive layers separated by a narrow gap. When your finger, presses down on a point on the panel's outer surface the two metallic layers come in contact at that point, and that location is sent to the device - to perform some action or move the cursor. Resistive touchscreens are reliable, but can only be used to control a single point at a time.
capacitive touchscreen panel consists of an insulator such as glass, coated with a transparent conductor such as indium tin oxide (ITO). Since the human body is also an electrical conductor, touching the surface of the screen results in a distortion of the screen's electrostatic field, measurable as a change in capacitance. Different technologies may be used to determine the location of the touch. The location is then sent to the device to be interpreted. Unlike a resistive touchscreen, capacitive requires contact with your finger - it is much more flexible and precise, but you can't use it with gloves, though you can use a capacitive stylus if the device supports them. Terrific full-featured tablet.
I love this tablet. The full HD display (1920x1080) is awesome. I can watch full blu-ray quality movies. With the HDMI port I can connect it to my big screen TV. It's fast, and does everything you could want. I wish it had a standard USB instead of the micro connector. Also the USB is used for the charger so you can't charge it while using a mem. stick unless you get a splitter. It's also not the cheapest by any means but you get what you pay for. So far I'm very pleased, it's a pleasure to use.

So Glad I picked this one!
I am currently overseas on a military base and had been going back and forth between an Apple iPad and the ACER A700. I am so glad I chose the ACER. It has been spot on! It has been so great that 4 other people have also bought one and others are climbing onboard every day. The product works great and none of us have had the overheating issue that many have complained about. It has more options than the iPad and you not limited by needing iTunes.

Great so far
First time tablet user. Love it ! It's fast for internet use and has a great picture. I've loaded .avi movie files on the micro SD card and they play perfectly. Re-downloaded all my Kindle books so now its easier to read at night than the Kindle. NO crashes or hang-ups. Battery life great. Con: Haven't been able to get it to print on my older HP printer, but it may not be the tablet's fault. So, am thinking about getting a new printer that claims to be tablet friendly.

Great tablet
Nice Tablet. Preforms great. Fast, no lagging. Screen is beautiful. Sold my iPad 2 day after I received this! Factory Android launcher is as bland as the iPad. Add the Nova Launcher app and you have a nice very customizable tablet.
