It was a very good deal for the money i paid

It is a good working NAS but not very easy to configure. It works as it says but i have never been able to have it work online through internet yet. It is very slow though even on family hard wired network. I would prefer easier software for setup. Excellent for automatic backups or hdd syncing etc.

Warning needed

I have now used this device for about a month and have had no problems with it. Have used many of its features and all worked as expected. One bad thing however is that D-Link no longer even acknowledges its existence. Updates are not possible.

Bought on a good deal

As I'm a power user, this little box satisfies my needs. I'm able to share whatever I want however I want. Although it is a little bit outdated and no longer updated the features are good enough for any home users. The quality of the product itself is great. The fan is not the noisiest but at some times (boot and long usage) can be heard. It has a 20-25 sec boot time which is acceptable. This device is hackable to reach better features due to the lack of updates. Still the cpu and ram are not good enough to put out the needs. Except if what is needed is a scheduled downloader or etc. In other words: Great deal for home users. Look at the feature for a power user.

Does the job but slowly

Put two of these on the home network for streaming and backup. Moving a movie is a bit slow, 30 minutes. The RAID mirror works like it should. When everybody is backed up, pull one of the drives, install a new drive, and in about 45 minutes you will have two mirrored drives again. Store the removed drive offsite for a safe backup.
