This camera is perfect for a first time digital camera owner. I think it's a great deal but am disappointed with a few things: I knew it was refurbished, but mine came full of scratches and knicks. The battery useage is an issue - not even 10 minutes with the batteries that came with. I have since purchased rechargeables. Also, I don't like the delayed flash time even in the sport mode. By the time the camera flashes, you've missed the shot. And the flash tends to be over-exposed or under-exposed even in autoflash mode.
It's definitely far from Pentax's best camera, but it's great for the money.

Let me start first by saying, this is a great camera for $99 bucks. It takes nice pictures, its easy to use, video is not bad and it doubles as a web cam. I bought this to use as a camera I wasn’t worried about breaking or loosing and this fits the bill nicely.
Main draw back is the battery life. If you get this camera invest in the Ultra fast charger with the 2500 batteries. I was going thru 2 alkaline AAs like every 30 or so minutes. The Ultra 2500s last about 2hr+ on heavy use. (Ultra Rapid AA / AAA Battery Charger with 4x 2500mAh AA and 6x 850mAh AAA Rechargeable Batteries $30 her on Tigerdirect). This isn’t a top of a line camera so don’t expect top of the line pictures. It takes nice pictures that print great. I noticed the flash whites out pictures and it had some trouble with glare in bright sunlight.
Ive been using it when I Geocache because I can put it in my pocket and go. If you want a better camera, look at the other Pentax cameras. One around the $200 is nice.

Decent little (and I mean little) point and shoot camera. Pentax lenses are quite nice.
Positives include: price and feature set, uses any AA batteries, and SD/MMC cards get cheaper every day.
Negatives include: autofocus can get confused on macro shots, flash might be too powerful on macro shots (even on auto flash).
