Dlink has made great progress between the first firmware and the one I just downloaded and updated my DSM-510 box with it. I like the layout, the new font (smaller but not too small) and more importantly the interaction with my Viiv system. I have it attached to my HDTV using the HDMI output and the experience is good. This box came along away between the first time I bought it and now (with the new firmware).

This is new technology and its VERY cool, but you must upgrade the firmware. Dlink is evolving the interface and the quality. Watching my kids personal videos and pictures on my TV in the living room is a wonderful experience and this product is so small and easy to fit next to my TV, I love it!

This is a new field of technology and it shows badly in this product. Firstly, if you don't have a Viiv intel computer, just forget it since it's usability is largely based on this. I bought this to run movies from my D-Link DNS-323 network attached storage drives. The MediaLounge is very buggy and temperamental to work with. It even cuts movies off before they have finished playing - showing that it is only 1/2 hour long!
I would wait for the technology to mature, if I were you.

Like all other D-Link products, this product sucks too. I don't understand why D-link makes installation so damn difficult. Looks like D-link never pays any attention to user testing when they develop their products. If you don't have the Intel Viiv don't buy this product because the Nero Media Home essentials software that comes with this package is totally retarded. After fruitless attempts of trying to set it up and even calling Tech support, which wasn’t of any help, expect for telling me that the product maybe defective. I’m returning this product and will make sure I don’t buy another D-link product again.
