Bricked after 4 months
Like many, I bought this router because I thought high price meant the best router. And it did seem like that at first. I was getting 260 Mbps wireless as opposed to only 80 Mbps on an 18 month old N router. Unfortunately I soon discovered other issues with it. 5 Ghz wireless had massive packetloss (25%), and opening up a regular web page with the router would take 2 seconds via 5Ghz compared to instant without the router. 2.4 Ghz seemed better and there was no packetloss despite an abundance of 2.4 Ghz devices in my area. I decided to turn off the 5 Ghz wireless -- unfortunately doing so completely bricked the router, and now it's a $200 door stop.

R6300 what a waste of money
After reading review, I bought this highly priced router in Sept 2012. After several hickup, the router was working ok. Had a problem with firmware update which was resolved with NetGear techie. The router stop working without any problem. Contacted Netgear tech support. Netgear techie was more interested to sell me extended tech support contract then, listen to the problem i have with the router. Do not buy this costly router. It is not worth it for the price.

It DOES work..sort of
Bought this to replace an old Netgear router.I thought it would be much better, but so far it is not. The router constantly tells me it is connected and disconnected.Speed within the house has not improved a bit..if it works. Off to buy a new router...one that is not so quirky

NO 802.11ac products
What good is paying a premium price for this as there are NO laptops or other wireless devices that can handle the 802.11ac. Even dogles are hard to find and the desktop card is huge. Better to buy a top end n or g

Poor range for the money
Set up and firmware was smooth. Would not connect to my other older netgear access points and signal strength is poor.

Very Good
It took about 20-30 minutes to install including updating the firmware. I have 7 people in the house all using computers, laptops, game systems, Ipods, along with Netflixs, sometimes all at the same time. My old router was always getting reset. The Netgear R6300 has been running for a couple of weeks with no problems and everyone is loving it... A little pricey is the only problem, but seems to be worth it. Even works in my basement...

Positive Experience
I bought this router along with a wireless USB adapter for my computer. Setup was easy and both my cabled and wireless connections worked the first time without any problems. I probably spent about 20 minutes getting it all setup and connecting to it. It's a bit pricy, but I wanted something that would work well into the future.

Best wireless router!
Easy to set up, good coverage from basement to second floor. A bit pricey but I'll get over that. Have not tested the HD stream feature.
