Travel Mate
I was looking for a device small enough that I could take on the road. This was recommended by one of co-workers so I gave it try. I updated the firmware as soon as I got this and I do this for all my electronic devices to ensure that the software is updated to the latest. This prevents future headaches. After the update, I started test features and I was impressed by how easily it could be configured. VERY IMPRESSIVE.

What a mistake.
I don't build my own computers, but I am pretty proficient with hardware. With this device, the documentation is awful. The main issue is that no matter what I tried, I could not get into the login page. So no access to setup wizard, no access to controls. Now is a brick. Other people have made similar comments on various review sites, so I know that I am not alone....

Save Your Money
Disappointed the D-Link was not capable of extending the WiFi coverage. Never tried using it with a CAT IV cable. Would not think it would improve. Better off just sticking with what you are using now.

I don't know why this is getting high ratings
This was very difficult to get to work, and only worked briefly. Now it interferes with my network whenever it is plugged in anywhere in the house and won't work as stand alone even after resetting.

Not easy to make work
It is a sharp looking device, but my IT guy has not got it working yet. I'm sure he will get there, but it is not easy to make work.

Does not work with Apple Home Sharing
I bought this to extend the range of our DIR-655 so I want to use it as a Repeater. As soon as the 505 links to the 655 Apple Home Sharing stops working. On the DIR-655 you have to enable Multicast Streams to get Home Sharing to work, but with the 505 as a repeater it stops working. I have contacted D-Link twice (via online form) but have not gotten a confirmation email or anything from D-Link. If you don't use Apple Home Sharing this is a great unit.

Great value.....Easy to set up.
Purchased this for my daughter who is off to university. It is perfect fora dorm room setting. It was very easy to set up. Upgraded firmware also which was a breeze.
