Works great! Just wish Garmin would give free map updates as they do with Nuvi. Well pleased with unit and Garmin support other than expensive map updates. |

Seemed to be a good unit until it died. it was hardly used untill now, my wife drove to florida thirty hours away and now it has quit working.Now she is all worried about coming back and is looking at buying a new one even though this is only seven months old. so im quite ticked off. i have emailed garmin for warranty, i will wait for their responce to see what happens. |

I use this daily for my work to get from site to site and I have to say I am pleased with this model, its simple and thats good when all you need to know is how to get to point A to point B, not much else I can say except now id like updated maps to avoid any potential problems. |

I purchased this last summer. I live in the DFW (a large metroplex) and drive all over. The good points are that it is portable and easy to move (connect/disconnect).
It may be more accurate in other areas, but it will often tell me to go off the interstate and then get back on (I have begun to work around this when I am familiar with the area), but this is extremely frustrating. I was on my way to dallas and it advised me to get off. I did, assuming that there must be a problem with the road, but it was another error with the Garmin. I got off and then went through a series of turns and detours, only to get back on, further back in traffic than I would have been had I stayed on the main highway.
This happens quite frequently.
It sometimes waits to advise of an upcoming turn when you are within 2-3 tenths of a mile. Not typically a problem, but its nice with the 1 mile warning and then one when you are much closer. This only happens occasionally.
At this price, this is not bad. |

Purchased mine when it first came out, over 4 years ago, at over 400.00 and I still use it every day. Have gone on trips all over the States with it, without a single problem.I am a salesman, use it practically every day. Dont have a updated map, but this has only cased me a problem 2x,so I had to stop at a gas station to look at perlies map those times. All the way thru the States, it reliably showed me the way to Restaurants, Hotels, and Tourist traps, only once did it fail at this, when it showed me the way to a Duncan Donuts that had been closed for a year...oh well. Never has problems locking up to satellites, but I have now installed a external antenna, as I have moved it further down onto my dash where it cant receive (antenna was $2.00 on EBay). |
