A buddy gave me a free FX-53 processor so I decided to upgrade my computer. So far this board works like a champ. No problems so far though as I set it up, it occasionally wouldn't get to the post screen. Simple reset and everything works great. I'm loving having a SATA hard drive.
My only complaint is the general layout of the board. The power connectors are kind of awkward, the system fan header is below all of the PCI slots so my case fan can't reach it, and the northbridge cooler is also slight awkward as my Sapphire 3850 video card barely fits over it. Otherwise it has been a good board so far. |

I purchased this for my first computer build. It's been working fine, but I am just learning how to change the settings in the BIOS. My memory settings are set at the lowest setting. I also have issues with the problems going on to certain sites when surfing the net. The board is ok. But I suggest using the 775 or AM2 motherboard for more power and features. |

Before you purchase this board, be aware that, even though the BIOS Power Management selection does have the User Defined option, this BOARD does not support the XP OS power management options -- NO Hibernation -- NO Sleep. If this is not a problem with you this is a good purchase. Didn't ask about the WOL and WOR settings, so if this is important to you, you will need to check with Mich Speed. Also please note that even though I emailed the problem to Mach Speed their reply was to call their tech number 580 272 0035 (not toll free) when they could have saved me the expense by telling me so in the email. |

Cheap budget board. Has a flaky BIOS, no updates on the site, resulting in the fan speed control not working in Linux, memory timings not recognized properly of low-latency modules, only few manual settings available, memory voltage in steps of .10 volts only. Too few fan headers, NB cooler has a fan that for sure will fail in less than 2 years. Hard to replace it with a fan-less heat sink because it'll block the x16 and one x1 PCIe slots, so poor motherboard layout. I'm using it for a Linux development system. I hope the x16 PCIe slot will support other devices than a video card because I wanna put a GbE card in it. So overall if you wanna go for a cheap Windows system go for a micro-ATX solution (with on board video). |
