I have been a PC user for over 20 years and have used many manufacturers’ video cards. For the last 11 years I have been an avid use of ATI products and the X1950 Pro keeps the streak going. Although I still play games I'm not a big gamer any longer. My interests are now into multimedia particularly video and this card does a wonderful job in producing and rendering video. Whether you're a gamer or into multimedia or just need a good reliable video card that delivers more than the standard this is a great place to start. The cards long design allows the heat sink to cover all of the board’s heat sensitive components. So, the memory is cooled, as well the graphics processor. This design is also quiet. When the fan does turn up its speed it's still quiet. Speaking of the long design, it's longer, not thicker, so it doesn't cover the card slot next to it. My Dell XPS 410 had no trouble accommodating this length.

Great card. Running two of these in crossfire mode. When not in cross fire mode, Im running 3 monitors. Did allot of reasearch, before I got my cards. These run the lowest power witch = less heat, for a geat middle of the road performence. You could get the 512 for future gaming but you have to deal with the cost. 256 works great for Battlefield 2142.

Amazing performance. Even if they call it a mid end video card, it works flawlessly. And if used with Crossfire could be high end territory. Needs a power supply with the 6 pin connector (PCI-E compliant). Games play at maximun resolution, all features turned on and all settings to high.
