The Radeon® X1950 PRO delivers HD entertainment with strikingly fast gaming performance, industry-leading image quality and crystal clear digital video. Before you buy - make sure your motherboard is compatible with this video card. For example, PCI Express video cards won't work with motherboards designed only for AGP or PCI video cards, and vice versa. Please read the specifications carefully or call us for expert advice.

AVIVO™

Avivo™ is a technology platform that includes a broad set of capabilities offered by ATI products. Full enablement of some Avivo™ capabilities may require complementary products.

Shader Model 3.0 Technology
Get your box geared up for the future of games with blazing fast shader performance and watch your characters sweat with Shader Model 3.0.

DirectX 9.0C Technology
DirectX 9.0c improves the graphics, security, and performance of your operating system. Download and install this update for your Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, or Windows XP-based system.

HDCP Compliant
HDCP (high definition content protection) is a standard that is encoded into the video signal to prevent it from being pirated. If a source device is HDCP coded and is connected to a HDTV display or projector without the proper HDCP decoding mechanism, the picture is relegated to “snow” or in some cases, very low (480P) resolutions of the images. In order to see HDTV with HDCP compliance, both the source and display devices must be equipped with DVI connections that can enable HDCP decoding.

CATALYST™
ATI’s all-new CATALYST™ Control Center goes far beyond traditional driver configuration software—it’s a feature-rich and stable 3D acceleration control application that puts you in complete command of your ATI visual processing unit

PCI Express Support
PCI Express is a new Intel bus architecture that doubles the bandwidth of the AGP 8X bus, delivering over 4 GB per second in both upstream and downstream data transfers.

I have been a PC user for over 20 years and have used many manufacturers’ video cards. For the last 11 years I have been an avid use of ATI products and the X1950 Pro keeps the streak going. Although I still play games I'm not a big gamer any longer. My interests are now into multimedia particularly video and this card does a wonderful job in producing and rendering video. Whether you're a gamer or into multimedia or just need a good reliable video card that delivers more than the standard this is a great place to start. The cards long design allows the heat sink to cover all of the board’s heat sensitive components. So, the memory is cooled, as well the graphics processor. This design is also quiet. When the fan does turn up its speed it's still quiet. Speaking of the long design, it's longer, not thicker, so it doesn't cover the card slot next to it. My Dell XPS 410 had no trouble accommodating this length.

Great card. Running two of these in crossfire mode. When not in cross fire mode, Im running 3 monitors. Did allot of reasearch, before I got my cards. These run the lowest power witch = less heat, for a geat middle of the road performence. You could get the 512 for future gaming but you have to deal with the cost. 256 works great for Battlefield 2142.

Amazing performance. Even if they call it a mid end video card, it works flawlessly. And if used with Crossfire could be high end territory. Needs a power supply with the 6 pin connector (PCI-E compliant). Games play at maximun resolution, all features turned on and all settings to high.
