Just received my unit and it doesn't work - right out of the box. Called Samsung and they determined that it is defective. Agent didn't believe that the warantee would be covered by Samsung. Had to fax sales invoice and tigerdirect.com exchange policy over to Samsung for their review. They are supposed to call me back. We'll see... Unit looks great (cosmetically). |

I received this item in NEW condition on 07-07-07. The Samsung DVR works perfectly and I am very happy with my purchase. Great features and great value...TigerDirect is a great company to do business with... |

Very Bad Product, DVD tray broken, DVD doesn't recognize the media. I would not recommend this product. |

For the low price, this unit has a lot of very nice features, such as a wide array of inputs and outputs, and front panel hookups for RCA cables or a DV Firewire camcorder.
It has a very strong tuner (better than my Sony VCR) and good noise removal filters, so the MPEG encoding is clear and smooth (no jumps or stutters due to noise). The only problem is that the noise removal tends to make a slightly ''soft'' image(over-smoothed), but the quality is still far superior to vhs. Overall the interface works like a VCR, with easy to use navigation and disc edit menus (to delete shows, add names to recordings, etc). The features and remote are easy to use, and the recorder starts and stops the disc with no problems. Great buy! |

Watch outBought one... very poor quality. Took an extension warranty.. so got to try and replace the product.
Check the configurations before you buy. You will have lot of issues trying to burn DVD and CD. Watch out.. |

Good feature set, easy to program, loved it while it lasted. Shortly after the 90 day limited warranty, my unit bluescreened. I called tech support and they informed that it could not be fixed. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty through Tiger Direct. I thought that would repair/replace the unit and leave my warranty intact for the rest of the two year period I purchased. I was wrong. I was refunded back with a credit the purchase price of the unit itself. Good that I can get something else, not good that I have to pay shipping again, and another warranty should I choose to take a risk on this unit again. Not worth it. I won't buy refurbished again. |

Received mine in perfect condition! Refurbished smurbished...It's the way to go! I love my Samsung player/recorder. Especially if you buy the DVD-RW discs, you can record over and over again. I would buy another if the wifey lets me. |

The only reason I gave the unit a 4 is due to the limitations on supported media (DVD-R and DVD-RW are supported)...Good picture quality, relatively straightforward setup, VERY thorough manual (almost too much so!). Another great deal from a great vendor, Thanks TIGER DIRECT! |

This product does what it says. It's a basic recording device for those of us too cheap to buy a DVR. There are a lot of mixed reviews out there becuase of bugs, so I felt that the refurbished one would work out well..... I've had it for a week with no problems. |
