Love the sound and as a gaming headset, this one really upped my game vs. a non surround sound headset. The Microphone socket is where the Mic failed, seeming to become lose and lose connection. I just switched over to the mic on my webcam and played on.
Not worth it

All I can say is JUNK, Two sets in less than a year and the cheap plastic keeps breaking. Like a comment said mine are held together with tape and tooth picks. I emailed razor tons of times and all i received back was the same SOL letter. Like I said JUNK!

I lusted after these headphones for a long time before finally purchasing and have been sorry ever since. The sound has been fantastic but the connections are a pain. I can only plug it into the same connections as my speakers, thereby leaving me with the struggle of having to reach behind my computer to switch them out if I want to use one or the other. The cheap plastic they're made of keeps breaking. I am not rough with my equipment even though these are so hobbled together with tape, wire, and glue that you'd think I throw them around the room. I have had the same piece on each side break off, both screw holes have broken off and now I use wire to hold the ear pieces onto the headset. While I thought they'd be more comfortable than my other headsets, they're actually less comfortable for me.

After my last pair of stereo headphones died (I assume from overuse), I started looking for a replacement set, and wanted something better than stereo as I'm not able to use speakers as much these days. This set among several others caught my attention.
Packaging for the headphones themselves was pure fluff as far as I'm concerned, but it wouldn't look out of place on Best Buy's shelf among other ''flashy'' looking packaging materials.
The headphones are -very- comfortable even after a 12 hour gaming session, unlike many other headsets, and the sound quality is very good. It's not perfect (and I didn't expect it to be), but it's not noticeable my listening activities (gaming, music, movies).
I've got absolutely no complaints about the headset, and would (and have) happily recommended it to other gamers and music lovers.

Great sound and microphone design. I did not buy the Razor sound board they are design to attach to, so I had to use the adapter that was provided which is cumbersome.
Great Head Set!

Great headphones. Takes some tweaking to get them set up for the bass sound. Very comfortable. I haven't had any trouble with the mic like most people. Highly recomended. A+

I seem to have a different experience then other the other reviewers.I used the razer soundcard and these were defiantly the best sounding headphones I heard in my life. The bass was so strong it shook my head. I never had problems with my mic, i actually thought it worked very well. However something was wrong with the wiring on my pair so the right side would go on and off. I really wanted to like these headphones but the shody workmanship is a big disappointment, especially from razer. The 5.1 isnt worth it, just get a good pair of stereo headphones.

If you want bass, these headsets are kinda lacking it. I expected more from a gaming headset WITH subwoofers...
My 10$ pair has better bass than these.
However, surround wise, they're awesome for gaming, you

Got 2 pairs of these, first one had the cord melted together in the packaging, not sure how that happened.
Exchanged them for a second pair and couldn't for the life of me get the mic to work. The sound didn't seem to be as directional as it claimed, my last headset was much better for that. Did not use it with the proprietary soundcard so that may have been some of the problem, but that just sounds like bad manufacturing if its the case.

My experience with these headphones is not so good. As others have said the mic is nearly useless and I can't be heard on Teamspeak at all even with full mic boost in the software. When the headphones are new they sound good and sounds are fairly directional (I also have the matching Razor soundcard). However they do not have a very long use life. My first pair went bad, crackles at first then little to no sound coming out of the left side, after about 4 months. Razor replaced them with a brand new set. I've had them for about 3 months and again the left side is starting to die as well. I don't abuse them in any way and treat them quite carefully. I have also spoken to at least two other people in the return lines at a major electronics retailer who said they were returning them because of failures of one side within a few days of getting them. For an item of this price this failure rate is unacceptable.
