GO GREEN AND SAVE GREEN
Manufacturers sometimes offer discounts when large quantities of products are purchased without fancy, colorful, retail packaging. We take advantage of these opportunities to bring you the same quality, retail product at a lower price. Retail packaging is designed to look good on a store shelf and attract your attention. It frequently includes more paper, plastic and cardboard than needed. OEM packaging is not as visually attractive but is far more economical and because OEM packaging uses less paper, plastic, ink and cardboard it creates less waste and is better for the environment. Although OEM packaged product ships in a plain white or brown box you can be assured it is the same quality product as the retail packaged version. Buying OEM packaged products saves you money and helps save the planet…GO GREEN AND SAVE GREEN. Included accessories, software, documentation, and manufacturer warranties on OEM products may vary from retail versions. Detailed Features
A Closer Look
Easier installation, Advanced 3D Reform
Trapezoidal distortions of images projected from an angled position can easily be corrected by combining the ordinary 3D Reform function and the automatic vertical keystone correction function.
When an image is projected from the left
The projector senses its vertical inclination and corrects projected images automatically. (Automatic keystone correction)With this operation, both the right and left sides of the projected image can be corrected to an almost right angle.
Then align the shorter side of the image on the left to a frame of the screen.
When you press the "Horizontal" key of the "Keystone Correction Menu," you can adjust the longer side of the image to make both the top and bottom sides parallel to obtain a square image. Since the ordinary keystone correction function using the 4-point correction method is also available, you can choose either method-whichever is easier to correct images depending on the projection environment.
Wall Colour Correction with 7 types of wall colour options can correct images according to the wall colour, such as a blackboard, etc.
When projecting images on a classroom blackboard without a screen, image colours will be tinged with green. Since colour data for such occasions as projection on a blackboard or a coloured wall were previously incorporated in the VT770, colours and tones of projected images and characters will be similar to ones that are projected on a white screen if the "Blackboard Mode" is selected. In addition, choose between 6 other types from the colour menu including colours of walls or room partitions.
Multiple input terminals and built-in stereo speaker
Input terminals for two computer systems (Mini D-Sub 15 Pin), component, video, S-video, and audio are standard. Furthermore, the projector is equipped with monitor output terminals (Mini D-Sub 15 pin) and audio output terminals, and with the built-in 5W + 5W stereo speaker, high quality images and sounds can be enjoyed.
Preset function adjusts and stores specific colors
The Video Image Correction function adjusts images according to the video source, such as presentations or movies. Select one of five options for video image modes. Up to five settings can be adjusted and stored in memory.
Viewer function for projector only presentations
Presentation documents from a PC and stored on a flash memory card*1 or images from a digital camera and stored on a flash memory card*2 can be reproduced with the Viewer function, for presentations without a PC.
*1 Use commercially available PCMCIA Type II (ATA specification) flash memory cards
*2 Some flash memory cards may not be available for reproducing.
USB Storage using commercially available USB memory
Enhance the viewer and security features of the VT770 with commercially available USB memory. Connect a USB memory card reader with the VT770 and use a memory card to manage data or as a protection key.
Security Function
The Key Lock function disables the operation buttons so the unit can only be operated via the remote control. Password protection prevents changes to the settings* and the PC card authentication settings prevent anyone from using the projector without authorization, which is effective for preventing theft. Improper operation by students in a classroom can also be prevented.
*Menu and background logo settings
Quick start & Quick shutoff
The quick start & quick shutoff function means you can install or dismantle the projector without delay. Fifteen seconds after turning on the power, the projector is ready to project PC or video images. When you're finished, the fan stops 10 seconds after turning off the power, so you can dismantle the projector quickly after the conference or class.

We have had this projector for 8 months now and it has been great. Picture quality is good and bright, setup and operation has been easy and the noise level is very acceptable. The only thing we would like to see added is a auto/remote focus and zoom capability but that's not a big issue.

This is the 2nd NEC I have purchased. Both lasted 4-5 months, then stopped working. The first was replaced, with a refurbished model due to lack of spare parts. I bought new, not refurbished.
Second one, which is this model, 4 months and it stopped. It has been in warranty shop 3 months and still there, they cannot get the parts.
Nice projector that is a paperweight.

About HDTV Viewing Angles
The Viewing Angle of any TV is an important specification. The wider
the viewing angle, the more enjoyable your experience. Viewing angles
above 150° means you can view your TV from a reasonable range - from the
front and off to the sides. However, viewing angles above 170° are
best! Many of today's Plasma and LCD HDTVs offer viewing angles of
178°, and their images do not suffer from degradation at very high viewing
angles. LCD TVs were originally designed for a one user
experience, as a computer monitor, but the technology has kept pace with the
demands for ever increasing viewing angles, and most offer excellent viewing
experiences. Between LCD and Plasma; Plasma TVs have the advantage,
but by a small margin.
Viewing angles are not an issue with
projectors because the light source is coming from in front of the screen,
and not from behind. However, the surface on which you project (screen or
wall surface) may have a slight impact on viewing angles, so it is important
to choose the best screen possible.

Projecting
The Perfect Home Theater Experience!
When creating a home theater, most people overlook the amazing benefits of
using a
DLP or LCD Projector instead of a large screen LCD or Plasma TV.
Projectors provide the ultimate experience in big screen viewing.
Instead of a 40 or 50 inch TV, with far less cost, you can have a
8 or 10
foot screen, and transform your living room into a true theater experience.
Additionally, projectors are available with High Definition displays for
incredibly crisp rich full color cinematic images. When you sit on a
sofa 6 or 8 feet away from a 10 foot screen, it almost exactly the same
experience as sitting in the movie theater (without the guy talking on his
cell phone behind you!) So consider the ultimate upgrade to your home
theater or gaming system. Add in a great home theater sound system,
and for very little money, you've created a movie watching dimension the
envy of your friends and family. So before you decide on your wide
screen consider the perfect solution to transforming any living room into
your own cineplex!
