Pretty Impressed
Pro: Frankly I'm impressed with the Aspire 5749z. Laptop came in good condition and for a mid lower range laptop boot speed is pretty quick. There was very little bloatware installed on the machine. Upgrading the memory and hard-drive does require removing the many small screws in the bottom cover, but once removed everything is easy enough to do. After down loading all the drivers and upgrading to 8 gig of memory I did a fresh install of win 7 and the few open source software I use. The video speed is good enough to play all the games and videos I need. The keyboard is basic with no frills. The power button is large, I find that I need to be careful when moving the unit not to get to close to it as it will shut down in a heart beat, but that's OK it boots just as fast. Con: Removing all the little screws on the bottom to upgrade hardware. Linux video drivers is not out for 3d support yet.
