Great product at an awesome price!! Before researching GPS units, I borrowed a Magellan to see what they are like. The only thing I got out of that experience was that I knew I didn't want a Magellan. The Nuvi is great no problems with navigation, only pronunciation(LOL). The different voice choices are a great change. Occasionally it takes a bit longer to acquire satellites, but no biggy. A lot of nice extras no others have. The battery out lasts any other. Fast shipping like I always expect. (Edit on 9-12-09) Since I have been able to use this more since the first review I have a little bit of a different opinion. Doesn't work well in cramped downtown areas in large cities like Chicago. Country roads also can confuse it easily. Very expensive for the SD cards for map updates.
Great device !!

This is probably one of the best investments that I have ever made honestly. My wife and I recently moved to a new city and without my Garmin Nuvi 360 I would be lost in transition. Its a great machine with a reputable name. Im pleased and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable yet incredible GPS device.
Bluetooth wireless technology is a short-range communications technology
intended to replace the cables connecting portable and/or fixed devices while
maintaining high levels of security. The key features of Bluetooth technology
are robustness, low power, and low cost.
It’s more than seeing. It’s
believing.
Before wires, everything was wireless. Nature found ways to connect it
all—often on a very mysterious frequency. Bluetooth wireless technology
takes its prompt from nature: harmonious, intuitive, seamless. Products with
Bluetooth wireless technology communicate with a sense of purpose and
elegant efficiency. Today, Bluetooth wireless technology can eliminate
wires. In the future, it may make the word “wireless” entirely obsolete.
By then, Bluetooth freedom will be second nature.
Designed to make connectivity invisible and
reliable. A perfect convergence of extraordinary technology and elegant
simplicity. Hundreds of companies are on board. Thousands of engineers have
contributed. Standards have been set. Specifications have been approved.
More than one billion devices are in use. And people are experiencing just
how far they can go.
It’s integrating every dimension of
productivity.
Where do we work? Desk. Sofa. Car. Hotel. Kitchen. Plane. Yard. It’s not one
location; it’s everywhere. It’s not one application; it’s many. With
Bluetooth wireless technology, our options are endless. It’s where we’d most
expect it and where we’d least expect it—and everywhere in between. It
adapts to how we work and how we live, transforming everyday tasks into
everyday solutions. Surprising, nimble, ubiquitous. Seeking new applications
and finding new opportunities—everywhere we turn.
Technically,
Bluetooth is a specification for the use of low-power radio communications to wirelessly link phones, computers and other network devices over short distances. The name "Bluetooth" is borrowed from Harald Bluetooth, who was a king in Denmark more than 1,000 years ago
(Computer people choose the strangest names!). Bluetooth technology was designed primarily to support simple wireless networking of personal consumer devices and peripherals, including cell phones, PDAs,
and wireless headsets.

GPS Terms You Should
Know!
GPS - Global Positioning System (Device) - Is a device that works
with the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) developed by the US
Dept. of Defense. It is the only fully functional GNSS in the world,
and uses a constellation of between 24 and 32 Medium Earth Orbit
satellites that transmit precise signals allowing GPS receivers to
determine their current location, the exact time, and their velocity.
Also known as a Personal Navigation Device, Navigational System, GPS Receiver,
or GPS Navigator.
System - The GPS Device itself.
Navigation - Is the process of
locating your current position, establishing your destination, and
controlling the direction and movement of a vehicle from one place to
another.
Compass - A device or feature of a GPS receiver
that shows your current direction.
Map - A map (or chart)
is a visual representation of an area, showing different objects or
landmarks; such as: streets, buildings, locations, and points of
interest.
Trip - A trip is the travel from point A to
point B.
Point of Interest - A POI is a recorded
location within the GPS Device, either pre-defined, or that can be
end-user entered. Usually these are accessed to speed setting a
destination, or a detour.
Trilateration - This is how a GPS device knows its
location. It uses three GPS satellites to trilaterate its
position. GPS units operate on a common clocking system to use
the variation in radio-frequency signal arrival time to calculate
their position.
Automotive GPS - A GPS Receiver typically
used in a car or truck. Depending on the design, can also be
used on motorcycles, boats, or as a hand-held GPS, but is not designed
specifically for these uses.
Mounting - Dash or dashboard mounting usually involves a suction mount holder,
that can easily be removed for storage when not needed.
Traffic - Traffic can be: the
display or information provide about real-time traffic conditions;
about historic traffic conditions at different times of day; or the
ability to route around typical congestion points on your Trip or
route.
Voice - Voice features can be: spoken
information that the GPS provides, including spoken directions, street
names, or alerts; or can be voice commands that the GPS owner gives to
the GPS device.
Touch Screen - A covering over the GPS
display allowing control of the features or map of the GPS Device.
Bluetooth - This is a wireless technology allowing
different devices to communicate. In GPS systems, Bluetooth
usually allows the GPS device to act as a hands-free speaker phone.
Geotagging - This is the saving of a
GPS coordinate to other information, such as a photo, point of
interest or other location. Using a GPS you can usually obtain
exact coordinates that may be used with other devices, or other
devices, such as a Digital Camera may have GOS built in for that
purpose.
WAAS
System
Basically, it's a system of satellites and ground stations that provide GPS
signal corrections, giving you even better position accuracy. How much
better? Try an average of up to five times better. A WAAS-capable receiver
can give you a position accuracy of better than three meters 95 percent of
the time. And you don't have to purchase additional receiving equipment or
pay service fees to utilize WAAS. The Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) are developing the WAAS
program for use in precision flight approaches. WAAS corrects for GPS signal
errors, and significantly improve accuracy.
WAAS consists of approximately 25 ground
reference stations positioned across the United States that monitor GPS
satellite data. Two master stations, located on either coast, collect data
from the reference stations and create a GPS correction message. The
corrected message is then broadcast through satellites. Currently, WAAS
satellite coverage is only available in North America. For some users in the
U.S., the position of the satellites over the equator makes it difficult to
receive the GPS signals when trees or mountains obstruct the view of the
horizon, but WAAS signal reception is ideal for open land and marine
applications. WAAS provides extended coverage both inland and offshore, and
does not require additional receiving equipment, or fees.
GPS Vehicle Placement! NOTICE TO DRIVERS IN CALIFORNIA AND MINNESOTA:
State law prohibits drivers in California and Minnesota from using
suction mounts on their windshields while operating motor vehicles. But you can
easily use other GPS dashboard or friction mounting options. Consult your
GPS manual for more information.
GPS units are designed to provide you with
route suggestions. Unless a GPS unit contains a traffic receiver, they do not
reflect road closures or road conditions, traffic congestion, weather
conditions, or other factors that may affect safety or timing while driving.
Use the unit only as a navigational aid. Do not attempt to use the unit for any
purpose requiring precise measurement of direction, distance, location, or
topography. This product should not be used to determine ground proximity for
aircraft navigation. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is operated by
the United States government, which is solely responsible for its accuracy and
maintenance. The government’s system is subject to changes which could affect
the accuracy and performance of all GPS equipment, including the unit. Although
the unit is a precision navigation device, any navigation device can be misused
or misinterpreted and, therefore, become unsafe.
Contents of package may vary from those pictured and stated here,
