Nothing special but has everything I needed,,,
This is an inexpensive drive enclosure I got to access data on an sata HDD I took out of an old laptop. It's nothing special, just a 2 bay enclosure with fan and the option to BIG or JBOD 2 HDDs via a little dip switch on the internal drive bay circuitry. I popped in the drive (it's not hot swap, but for the price I didn't expect it to be), plugged the USB into my new laptop, and almost immediately was able to drag and drop all the files I needed. Then I wiped and formatted the old drive. I plan on adding a second HDD as soon as I pull it out of another old laptop. Then I may BIG or JBOD the drives depending on how I decide to use them. Easy peasy. And a great value at under $40.

Not bad for the money
I agree with the other reviewer that the instructions in this device are in error. Directions are backwards. Instead of ''JBOD'' and ''BIG'' on the setting switch it is actually ''normal'' and ''JBOD''. The normal setting gives recognition as two separate and distinct drives, while JBOD setting recognizes the two drives as one. In any case, once you figure this out, it works great.

Good buy
This is an excellent external HD enclosure. Works very well, easy to assemble, easy to use! It is a bit noisy but it worth every penny we paid!

Great Product Once Again

Difficult to install
The first unit I ordered was returned because it was defective. The replacement unit is not being detected by WIN 7. The drivers are not being installed and they are not available on the Ultra website. This may be a WIN 7 issue, but I'm not sure.
