BUY THIS PROCESSOR! Sorry for the caps, but seriously, this processor is rock solid. I bought this for my first PC build and have had no problems (almost a year now). Sorry to say, but I got this processor for $75.00 new on a competitors site (I think they were liquidating their inventory of this processor). Still, at $125, I would not hesitate. |

This is an awesome processor. Handles virtual machines pretty well. Overclocks very well(just up the FSB to 1333-easy 3.0Ghz), and few GPU's out can make this bottleneck. Easy to keep cool. I have mine at 3.0Ghz, and with an Ultra Chilltec, my temps are at 24-25C according to IntelTAT(inside of an Antec 900). If you plan on using a Nvidia GTX 260 or better, I don't recommend this CPU, as this CPU will bottleneck the GPU. If you plan on using an 8800GT or 9800GTX+ this will suit you just fine(with roughly 11000-12000 3DMark06 scores).
With Vista64, XPpro32, and Linux32, this and 2gb-ram will boot in 15-20 seconds on a 16mb hdd(pending on start up apps). Vista64, 8gb-ram, 32mb hdd, boot up is usually 10 seconds. Not bad for a year and a half old CPU(how long I've had it). |

Very fast processing so far has been the fastest CPU I have used. Also not sure if it is the CPU or not but the computer that has this CPU running seems to be more stable than my other 2 computers. |

We have 5 pc's in the house from AMD to p4 and I must say this is by far the fastest I've used to date, paired it up with an EVGA 680i and 3gb's of OCZ pc8500,150gb Raptor ,Evga 8800gts SC,pc power cooling 750 watt psu and pushed it up to 3.0ghz and it really rocks,I've had it now for close to a year and I won't never go back,No more waiting for program's to load like the old cpu's where you give a command and take a nap before it responds ,However I have noticed that you can get the Core 2 Quad now for far less than this core 2 duo now,so My next step is the Quad 6700 with it's 10x multiplier and 2.66mhz and 4 cores instead of 2 ,''WOW'' I hope it's at least twice as fast as this one..but if you're in the market for a CPU than you will be totally satisfied with this one for sure ,just a Great cpu,go Intel ,folks we're living in goods days here where the major processor giants are in a bidding war for the top processor and we the Consumer WINS'' .... |

Good processor. Noticably faster. Can overclock quite a bit. I wouldn't go beyond 3.6ghz, and try to keep the voltages low. I use a Zalman 9500 cooler that keeps it real cool. I had to modify this cooler mounting bracket on a grinding wheel, but only a 2 minute job, for the 780i chipset evga. If you are not overclocking I wouldn't bother with going this far. Stock cooler works well. |

FYI you can overclock this processor to surpass the midrange core 2 extremes at 3.60GHZ stable with 3/8 liquid cooling systems. |

I was hesitant to pick up this CPU, thinking that it couldn't possibly make that much of a difference from my 3.4 GHz Pentium D. I am completely dumbfounded by how much faster my machine is with this processor. My power consumption is down, and it overclocks like a champ (40% OC, with NO heating or stability issues!). This CPU is a steal for under $250. |

Stunningly fast at a good price point as of this writing. About twice as fast as the Pentium D 805, another value chip at its price point. I'm running the E6600 in an Intel DQ965GFE motherboard for a fast, stable, stock system that can utilize the full 1066 MHz FSB speed. The CPU is about 2/3 the power dissipation of the PD 805, resulting in a quiet box. CPU temps are 37 degrees C or less. Coupled with an XFX Nvidia 8600 GT graphics card, this chip and mobo is capable of very heavy-duty scientific molecular graphics. |

VERY Fast CPU. Doesn't even compare to any cpu's I've ever purchased. Good overclocker too, It's at 3.2GHz right now and everything is running perfectly. HIGHLY reccomend this to gamers out there ! This cpu wont bottleneck your high end gpu's (8800/2900). INSTALL TIP: When you're applying the thermal paste, make sure to put a thin line, spread it, and make sure the whole cpu is covered with a nice thin layer ) |

Nice CPU! OC'ed to 3 GHz on stock cooling, and it never runs much aboove 31C. Using Nvidea chipset, it is very fast and stable. Couldn't get it above 3GHz, but then I didn't try very hard, just set the FSB to 1333 and off it went. Recommended. |
