DVR Deal
The main reason I purchased this DVR was the ability to view my apartment with my Iphone and it will send you an e-mail if it detects any movement, and as you know you can assign a perticular sound to different e-mails that you recieve in my case i elected for the sound of an emergency horn so when i here that type of ring on my phone i imeadely view my apartment !setup was easy but i had to call support about how to make it work on my iphone, and they had it working in less than 5 mim. it quit working in a week, and i thought i have got it put to me on this, but when i called them back and told them it quit they said your IP address has changed they told me to type in on my computer WIMI that will show you your IP address when i put the new ip add. in my iphone app it started working again, now when wont connect i just go online and get the new ip and fix it myself since i have a dynamic ip add. if yoe have an static ip its only one time, i reccomand this DVR

no hard drive
For what I got It works good, but the unit does not come with a hard drive and for non technical people the ad should have in red letters that it is not complete. I had to buy a hard drive for 120$ on top of this purchace. Then had to install it which wasnt bad, but would have paid more up front to have the unit put togather for me. Not dissatisfied with unit, I'm disapointed with the advertising.

Good value
spent good money om other security systems I.E computer based and so on and none any real good, But the Night Owl system is cheap and really worth the money great system all round

good product
Easy set up for local view however configure access through internet explorer requires some knowledge of network. Instruction is in some part confusing and not well explained. Overall it is good product.

Works great, and cellhone viewing actually works!
After years of buying IP cameras and only having a 50% success rate, this DVR did the job. I can view anything my DVR's cameras see from wherever I am. And, it's recording it! Even more impressive is the image is clearer than the same view through the IP system I have that DOES work. I'm recommending this unit to friends!
