Had this for a while now!!
I purchased this system 3 years ago to this point it has performed flawsly and without any problems. It is a great system with 5 HDMI interfaces in the back, and a truckload of options. I rate this system at A++++++++. The surround sound is window shakeing. You will not be sorry with this system. Kevin S

Great product. Best deal.
Sound quality is great. Nice bass. Can't get a better deal at that price. This is my first time buying Onkyo. Always heard it was a good brand and so far I am very satisfied.

2 years strong
Just thought I would write a review after 2 years using the Onkyo 5500 system. I was leery of the cheap cost when I bought it because there are many systems double the cost for the same features. I must say that the Onkyo system has stood the test of time. Still sounds great. Love the black wood speaker look. The center channel is perfect for movie voices. The subwoofer is amazing. You could spend a lot more money for a system that would be marginally better. I dont know a better value home theater system with long lasting quality.

Failure Subwoofer
I bought my home theater model HT-S5500 at the store in September 2012, and in November 2012, just the SKW-591 subwoofer model stopped working. The system subwoofer league after receiving a signal from the Receiver, connecting automatically, and simply stopped working. I've been searching the internet and saw many users complaining that subwoofer, and Onkyo that will make a Recall of its equipment. I bought the HomeTheater, came to Brazil, where I live and I have a device without the subwoofer, with two months of use. How is under warranty, I'll be checking with the Onkyo a possible return.
