Awesome receiver
This is my first receiver. Works as expected and is performing great. I did the update as commented by the other reviewers right off the bat and its been working since i bought it. Would definitely recommend it.

Great entry level product
This is my 3rd Onkyo. I bought it to replace an Onkyo that is 13 years old and could not handle HD video. For the money, this is a fantastic entry level receiver that will handle most home theatre needs for your average size living room. You will need to update the software right out of the box, so it should have access to internet or you can use a thumb drive and download it from Onkyo's website.

Heads up
First and foremost, despite what the ad reads this unit does not include wifi. There is an ethernet port but no wifi. The is a wifi adaptor but not included. If everything you own is HDMI and your TV has ARC setup is a snap. If not it can be a little frustrating properly routing the digital stuff like older xboxes. The sound is powerful, deep and clear, loud or quiet. A wide selection of listning mode presets meets almost any need and the microphone based set of our speakers is fantastic; you put your speakers where you want them and it fires a signal to the speakers and adjusts them for the optimal effect. Way cool.
