It seems Olevia has a problem with the remote control. My remote went dead after about six months. Olevia replaced it and is working fine.
The TV is good for the price. I have a Toshiba also, better overall.

I bought this TV strictly for XBOX 360. Looks really good for the price. I plug in headphones to play and it sounds amazing. Very nice. I have a few complaints: The remote stopped working. I think the remote is actually fine, but the TV stopped receiving the signal from it. There was a lump in the top of the TV out of the box, as if the plastic around the edge of the screen was warped. Looks weird but its not that big of a deal to me. The blue light on the power button that turns on when the TV is off stopped working. I understand that I got a good deal when I bought this TV for $349.99, but even at that price, the item should come without defects (i.e. warps in the plastic, remote issues, blue light stopped working). I'm a bit unhappy with these issues because I switch inputs alot and its difficult without the remote. Anyone know how to fix the remote?

I generally agree with ALL of the comments, except I have had no hardware or firmware problems. I purchased this huge screen for word processing. I usually have about 8-12 windows open for my work, and really want more screen size. The unit seems to be reliable and quite brilliant. I'm sure it is great with TV, pics and movies. However, with the simple task of word processing in actual size - it falls VERY short. I will go blind if I keep it. Although these screens are advertised as PC monitor capable - they (at least this one, and I subsequently looked at others set up in BustBuy) do not have equivalent performance.
I tried a VGA cable, also DVI/HD, using Intel 945G. A disappointment, which has nothing to do with TigerDirect.

I have had this monitor for 4 months (bought it 12/06, now it is 04/07). I have it hooked up to my PC. It is great for watching DVDs with the PC. I use it daily to do internet, etc. I have yet to hook up a DVD or cable/satelite. I have not used the remote.
My only complaint is the super bright blue LED. If you are sitting back and watching a movie, it is annoying. I usually cover it up to avoid the glare of it in a dark room.
I would recommend this monitor and may get another. I do recommend it as a monitor for Windows Media Center Edition. Computing on the couch is more comfortable and allows shopping on the internet (Tigerdirect.com) a social experience. Better than huddling around a monitor on a desk.

Ordered myself this unit after a bit of research. The contrast ratio is very good for the price. It does have a really nice image. No burnt pixles and all seemed well!
Shortly after first turning it on I noticed it has some issue with the remote. If I press the volume up, it will go up one notch, but a few seconds later it will continue to go up and up, all the way full blast. If I press down, it will go down and down all the way. It is repeating whatever remote command I give it over and over uncontrollably. I initially thought the remote was screwwy but that's not it. This doesn't happen all the time, but at least half. I have to power it off than on to correct the issue, most times it works again. However just the other day it locked up on me, not even the pwr button would work, had to pull the plug. There is some way to upgrade the firmware with a data cable, I'll do that if I decide I have had enough. Kinda blows because the image, especially in HD is just fantastic. owell!!
