fine for dvd, could not read blue ray disk
windows 8 had no problem detecting it and it works fine with my dvd's. Tried one blue ray and it could not read it, even after I installed the specific drivers coming with the product. I was immediately directed to a window where they want to sell me rev 13 of the software for $50. So far I don't get more value than if I had bought a $20 dvd player.

Works Perfect
Plays bluray with included program disc, and will burn with upgrade Power DVD 13 program or like I have Roxio creator Pro 2012, but your better off with Power DVD 13 as Roxio will burn bluray, but not playback and Power DVD 13 by Cyberlink will do both
