I am blown away!! Everyone that comes over is completely amazed. I have been shopping around for projectors for the last 6 mos. After going to electronics stores to see different displays and reading reviews from different sources I bought the Optoma HD72. The High def. signals look so crisp and detailed like a 3D image. I have my computer plugged into the projector through the DVI-d from 19 inch to 110 inch improvment. 1280X1024 crystal Clear! Upconversion dvd player, PS-3, Digital High Def. cable. Dont spend your money on only a 42 inch LCD, for the same money and picture quality buy a 110 inch screen and this projector!!!! Zero fan noise!! |

I was expecting a good quality projector, but this exceeded my expectations. Beautiful color, precise detail, quiet, etc. For a dedicated home theater you won't be dissapointed. I don't think this would make a good office projector though, it needs a dark room to show off the exceptional picture quality. Also, don't expect a better picture than you're sending it. You need a high definition signal, (HDMI, DVI) to get the detail. But regular DTV signals are OK even at 9' ;-) |

This projector is great. The picture quality from my HDTV is awesome as well as my DVDs. I can't wait to see what a HD DVD will look like. I have it 14 feet away on a 106'' Cineperm screen. I sit almost directly under the unit as my room is 15' by 16' and I never notice the noise from the projector fan. The only limitation is light control. I used it for a week with just blinds on the windows and immediately went to the curtain store and purchased thermal curtains. Everyone that has seen this picture is amazed. If you are debating, this is the one to pick.
I can not judge on the ease of installation as I had this professionally wired and mounted into a home theater room that was currently under construction.

The picture quality is amazing and I am not even using a hd dvd player yet. Even with an old 480p dvd player at 100in the picture looks great. Better than most big screen TVs at half that size. Installation and setup was easy. I had it setup and watching my first movie in about 20 minutes. I would recommend this projector to anyone. No rainbow effect and great contrast. |
