Used for my Satellite DVR!
Used this unit with a HDD and was totally plug and Play, installed in less than 5 minutes, no issues whatsoever. Use it for your Shaw Satellite system to extend your memory on your DVR, worked like a charm!

Almost what I ordered
The ad showed that the drive enclosure came with a card for my PC. There was no card included so I had to purchase one separately. The reason I choose this drive was because it was a good value but now that I had to add the price of the card, it was not such a good deal.

Good product
This is the second NexStar 3 I've purchased and it is as good as the first one. I still have the first one but it's 1 Tb hard drive is nearly full hence the second one.

Dumped my old PC due to a fire and put the hard drive in this enclosure, sweet, quiet, looks good, small footprint, plug and play, only con is ... gets hot when on for extended period of time

Really sweet so far
So far this enclosure has performed really well. Stays extremely cool and takes up very little space on my desk. It holds one of 3 SSDs installed on the system. My system is a video processing workstation so this enclosure is a great addition. System: EVGA x58 FTW triple channel motherboard, 24GB RAM, EVGA GTX580 video card, Intel i7950Quadcore OC, 3 SSD HDD, 1 USB 1.5 TB external, 2 SATA HDD.

Very good deal
I have had several of these and they worked wonderfully no matter what hard drive I put into them. My recent purchase of another one was because I did something dumb and broke one. The new one has worked flawlessly either by USB or ESATA. The aluminum housing helps keep the drives cooler because of heat dissapation, which is a great help because it lacks a fan. I would buy another one in a heartbeat

Internal HDD speeds with External HDD portability!
This enclosure is perfect for my needs. I'm getting speeds of up to 150MB per second transferring over the external sata cable, and around 25MB per second transferring over the USB cable. I have been loading huge files onto it quickly from my desktop PC through sata and then easily switching over to a USB cable to run those files on older computers without sata ports. Works great!
