I have been using the DI-624 for about a week and a half and it has worked like a champ. It took about 15 minutes to set up the router. Some advice for people who buy this router - do exactly what the CD says to do and don't jump ahead and play macho man. I wonder if all of the other who bash this router really knew what they were doing at all. I have been using this with Windows 98 SE. The range is excellent and I still get a strong signal at the bottom of my yard over 250 feet away line of sight. No resets, no problems. If you can read at a 3rd grade level, installing this on your PC will be a snap. Tiger Direct came through once again as usual with fast shipping and no problems. Rebate forms are straight forward too. I'll be looking at future products from D-LINK for sure.

I bought this router around the first of September and have not had any problems with it. I use it in my apartment to share with my neighbor across the hall. We both get a good, strong, consistent signal 24/7. I noticed that about 4 reviewers (out of 31) said they lost their signal every so often, but I (and the other 25+) people don't seem to have that problem. So I would highly recommend buying this router while the price is good. With the 108mbps it is an advanced model that will be on the upper end of simple home networks for the next few years.

I bought this router 2 weeks ago to use at a college dorm. (Around about 5 other wireless netorks.) One would expect a lot of interference and problems keeping a connection, but this router has worked smoothly since day one. It allows me to share stuff between my two computers without any wires, and I can keep it completely private.

I have two of the same model. As most people pointed out. It drops signal every few hours and you have to reboot. However, thats not the worst, EVEN the pc thats connected through the port drops connections. It gets me mad! Especially when you're in a middle of game (WOW,e.g. raid) you'll be pissed. So stay awwway! but for 4.99 ...its a steal I paid about 80 for mine.

What You Should Know
How Much Memory Do You Really Have?
When you look at the specifications for a computer, it will display the installed memory, and typically the maximum memory that can be installed. However, while these are real values, they represent a potential useable memory depending upon the installed operating system, and other factors. The actual useable memory may be different (lower) from these values. The reason is simply that a computer may have a limitation in the operating system (such as Windows 32 bit versions), or configured to use shared memory, which reduces the amount of RAM that is available to the CPU by using some of it for other purposes, such as for video memory. In some cases, you can control the maximum useable memory through system settings, by upgrading from a 32 bit to a 64 bit version of Windows XP or Vista, or by upgrading to a video card that has internal onboard video memory.

But always remember, that the amount of memory that your system reports, is not always the amount of actual installed memory. For example, if you have 4GB installed, 32 bit versions of Windows will typically report 3.2GB due to a limitation of Windows itself.  Also note that different Windows programs report available and maximum memory differently, which can be confusing. If you find that you need more memory, we suggest expanding your system memory, since this is the most effective performance increase, and the one that is easiest to perform .
