This is my first mp3 player; I got it because it was inexpensive. On the plus side, the sound is good, the battery lasts for hours, the screen is legible, it is reasonably compact & the USB interface is handy. On the negative side, the ear phones are useless, the controls are somewhat erratic, & it doesn't appear to be at all shock resistant--the sound jumps when you move or when the player is bumped (altho wearing it on a lanyard solved that problem).
Am enjoying this one, but wouldn't get another.

This product is terrible. Two seconds after I plugged it in my computer (for the first time), norton antiVirus immeaditly popped up saying that there was a high-risk virus on this mp3 player, and the file was deleted. For only 256 mb, this player is bulky. The headphones that it comes with are garbage -- they're pathetic! They are quiet, wont stay in my ears because there is no grip, and are oddly combined as a lanyard so they get tangeled very easly. Plus, the player has about a one second delay from when I press the next song button, and when it actually skips to the next song, which gets very annoying because I cant scroll through the list easily. The manual is useless, I could barely figure out how to use the FM radio with it... I am better off playing with it (like summerhush said in the other review). There are some good things to this player, like the voice and FM radio recorder, and the three line display with color lightup background. This is worth the money, but a bad idea.

I just received this mp3 player and am impressed by its sound quality. It's very good for the price. The included earphones sound tinny, but the sound quality is very good with my noise cancelling headphones. Both bass and treble are well reproduced. The built-in equalizer settings are also very effective.
The FM radio reception is weak, but it locks-on well when it finds the signal.
The buttons and controls are flimsy and feel loose but work okay.
The menu is intuitive, except that I had difficulty getting out of the FM tuner mode and back to music play mode.
The manual was written by someone who didn't know English, but you can figure out what he/she intended to convey.
It's a good value for the price, so I bought 4 for gifts.

Dollar Wise? Great investment. Headsets leave enough to the imagination, and the manual is about useless. You'll learn how to work the mp3 player faster by just playing around with it. Sound was great, can't go wrong for the price paid. Ordered a couple for presents! :)

A very great mp3 player for the price. I bought a pair of earphones after reading the other reviews but found that the ones included with the player were not all that bad and sound pretty decent so I guess its a matter of opinion.
The player has excellent sound from mp3's and the FM radio which I was skeptical of the reception but it does a pretty nice job of pulling in stations (however the closer the station is to you the better).
The manual is so so at best and doesnt really even cover downloading mp3's but I had it up and running in no time.
One very important piece of info about this player that I found on centons support forum, DO NOT flash the player with the update that is on their website if the player is working. From what I gathered, the flash was only for players that were not working. Those that flashed their player all reported that their player had stopped working after the flash.

I just received it this afternoon and was shocked at how GOOD a job it does! The FM radio came in loud and clear on a congested city street, and the mp3 lectures I downloaded couldn't be clearer. I didn't buy it to play music mp3's, but the FM classical music sounded pretty good to me while walking along a busy street.
I'm not crazy about the earphones either (ref. the other reviewer) because the cords get all tangled, which definitely dampens the joy, so I recommend spending an extra five dollars on the retractable earphones that Tiger Direct sells on the same page as this mp3 player. It's still an excellent value, considering that the item is also a voice recorder and a USB flash drive.

Centon MP3 players i personally own one of these and i got to tell you their worth the buy the unit was bigger than i imagined but it is outright good looking if you dont mind its size. the only complain i have is that these units come with this necklace type earphone, the earphones sound dull so you really need a replacement pair. but in total the necklace thing is okay but im personally cutting the earpieces off of it... an advise to centon electronics the idea is awsome to say the least but it might have been a better idea to have better earpieces think apple earpieces!!!
