Linksys Wireless-G Music Bridge
Wirelessly brings your digital music collection to the living room
The Linksys Wireless-G Music Bridge lets you bring the digital music streaming to or stored on your computer to your Home Entertainment Center, without running cables through the house. Using a wireless connection, the Music Bridge finally frees your digital music collection from those little computer speakers to play in full glory through your stereo or surround sound system.
The Wireless-G Music Bridge sits by your home stereo and connects to it using standard consumer electronics cables. Then it connects to your home network by Wireless-G wireless networking, or if you prefer, it can be connected via standard 10/100 Ethernet cabling. The included software creates a virtual sound system in your PC, which sends the audio output of any application to the Music Bridge and the stereo system. Use your favorite media player to play your music, and listen in the comfort of the living room.
Unleashing your music collection from your computer is really easy! Just connect your sound system to the audio port on the Linksys Wireless-G Music Bridge using the included stereo RCA cable and enjoy hours of music in the comfort of your living room. Your music doesn't have to be confined inside the PC anymore.
Let the Linksys Wireless-G Music Bridge bring your digital music out into the living room for the whole family to enjoy.

Unit arrived Fri and spent a day 1/2 getting it to work. First update the firmware and software, use the supplied disk as a coaster. Follow the instructions, but use the manual settings. Know your router address, DSN range, and WEP settings. Important to know if you have WEP or WPK. Use an empty address and enter your gateway address for your router. Has great range once it works. Im using it to pump music from my laptop to my outdoor speakers on my zone 3 stereo output.

This product works very well but it seriously took 4 hours to setup - mainly because of one simple flaw - the MAC address on the back is for the wired lan output, the wireless MAC address (which is obviously what anyone would use) is one digit higher than the LAN MAC. You would have thought there would be some sort of note for this, but there isn't. And because the automatic install isn't worth crap, you will need the wireless MAC - not the one on the back of the unit! I also agree with the person before that stated Linksys support sucks - it does! One simple digit cost me 4 hours, had I known about it to begin with it would have only taken 10 minutes.

The Music Bridge works great once it is setup. BUT If you have a wired AND wireless network and youre running Vista, be prepared! Youll need to update the software AND the firmware. After an hour and a half on the phone with Linksys technical support in Malaysia, the final advice was to return the product and get my money back. I wasnt ready to give up so I called my brother who is a network engineer for AT&T. We determined that for some odd reason the music bridge was not retaining the gateway IP address. We downloaded the latest software drivers AND the firmware, and that finally did the trick. Now Im happy.

Not the most reliable unit available. There are better units, but these do cost more, so if price is the issue, than this can be made to work. Vista drivers were an issue for the longest time, Linksys kept promising but no delivery. New drivers caused my system to reset so haven't tried them on that system since. XP seems to work fine.

The guy in the cube next to you at work always has his headphones on, his
