The product was clearly cheap and this was ''compliant'' with the rest of the branding, remote and general look. Didn't matter much for what I expected = to play TV on a LCD monitor. After less than 10 months -- didn't need to change the original batteries, the remote and/or infrared stopped working. Now, without a remote, we have to change channels and ajust volume manually! Too bad, it started well. For the image quality, I guess this was not an issue for us. The LCD was basic and gave good image.

The manual is poor so I bypassed reading it until after I installed the tuner. No issues with picture quality or installation. Pretty happy considering the poor reviews on here. When connecting it to an LCD monitor it is important to set the tuner to the native resolution of the monitor or the picture will be fuzzy. Don't forget to check the color setting on the LCD monitor as well.

To give you an idea of the quality of this product, I will quote from the first page of the instruction manual: ''It owns high resolving output and won't arouse visual fatigue.''
I was able to hook my consoles up after a few minutes of playing around, but am VERY disappointed with the image quality. It is blurry and washed out, and you can barely read the words on the screen. In addition, the audio hookup doesn't work.
Would NOT recommend to anyone.

I got this device in September and I have not had any problems with it. The only disappointment I have is that the S-Video input on the back of the device (the one for your pc) is VERY low quality. My PC desktop was blurry, text was difficult to read, and the cursor was shadowed. After using it this way for 5 months, I plugged my monitor into my pc directly and was amazed at how much better it looked. I got a KVM device at Radio Shack for $15 so I can switch back and forth. Other than that, it is a very good device. Cable looks great, video input (from game systems like XBOX) is a little blurry, but I don't mind since I'm at least five feet away anyway. All in all, it is a great buy and I would recommend that you get it, but if you want to use your pc on your monitor too, a KVM device will keep image quality from PC at a high level.

I bought one of these back in the beginning of October, and I haven't had any real problems with it. Some of the things the other reviewers have mentioned (lines when using your computer through the adapter (not noticeble on high-resolutions), some bad noise cancellation, and weird channel numbers) are true, but besides those things, it works like a charm. I only had sound problems when plugging stuff into it. Cable sounds fine, though. I use an A/V selector where I plug everything into, and that's hooked up to my sound system, so, it's no biggie. I just use the S-video port to play games on my monitor. All of my consoles from the 32-bit era and above work fine (everything before that outputs a lower video signal that can't be read properly by some screens). I got my PS2, Dreamcast, Saturn, and N64 hooked up to it, and they all work perfectly fine. And so did my Xbox 360. Picture is pretty nice, too. I recommend it if you're in need of a cheap, good TV.
