Premium SSD
Used as the boot drive for a new computer build with Win8 Pro so I can't compare it's speed to an HDD but it seems fast and of course is silent. I use a WD Caviar Black for data and back up to an internal Toshiba. While it was pricey I've had no problems and expect good performance and a long life.

its a SSD
I also switched from a WD Caviar Black 1 TB but my boot time only improved a few seconds. My Corsair GT gets the super fast boot times on my laptop but maybe I'm missing something with this drive. I've tried running its toolbox to boost its performance but the same. Perhaps I forgot to do something to optimize it better?

Really Fast!
I replaced a WD Scorpio black with this Intel SSD, on my laptop, and now have boot times of 10 seconds or less. Shut down is a quick 5-6 seconds. The overall speed in use is lightning fast. Intel's SSD Toolbox optimizes this drive using trim adjustment. I am totally satisfied!

Satisfied
I bought this to go along with a MSI GE70 laptop; let me tell you, this thing is fast... just about 20 seconds after I press the power button, I'm into Windows and ready to go. Installation was a breeze, as was the cloning; the delivery was right on time as usual. I recommend this product and company to anyone!
