After several years of daily use, my first one stopped printing. I bought a second - the strongest endorsement possible.
I wish I could set two-sided printing to be the default; I cannot. |
Works with linux out of the box!

I bought this printer because I'm running on Ubuntu Linux (8.04 Hardy) and I wanted something that would just work. Well, this did and I'm a happy camper. The duplexer showed up by default too! I'm using it via USB, I have not tried the network capabilities. |
This is an excellent value and printer in general.

My company uses these to print invoices buy the hundreds every day 7 days a week and this printer wont stop. If you dont need color and are looking for an outstanding black and white printer, look no further. It prints extremely fast, even duplex. It has a larger paper tray, the list goes on. Works great on Apple networks, effortless setup. |

worst printer in the world. this thing is flimsy. there is one little piece of plastic inside where the paper tray goes that gets out of position or breaks very easy. dont do it i took one back the new one did the same thing. sucks |

This is an excellent printer. I had it set up and running over my local network in five minutes. It prints very quickly and in high quality. I used a Brother dot matrix printer a long time ago, and I was impressed with the quality and durability of that printer. I had used several HP inkjets and laser-jets since, and I am very glad I came back to this brand. Brother makes really good stuff. I'm super happy with this printer and would recommend it in a heartbeat to anyone! |

I purchased mine just one week ago. Already put over 400 copies and no jams, no quality problems, changing the settings is easy and makes less noise than my pc. Also, yesterday went to pay my car loan and, to my surprise, I could count more than 5 identical printers at diferent areas of the bank. To me, it is the purchase of the year! |

Bought it for our CSR's (3) so they didn't have to use a common printer with Marketing and Shipping and they love it. Quiet, fast and quality printing. For the time being they do not use the Duplex but now that they have the option are looking in to new forms that will utilize that function.

Took a little convincing to get the networking to work and I would like to see an LCD on the front for better information, but for a $250 laser printer that does 30ppm and duplexing I would buy two for the cost of a comparable HP and I think the quality is as good and it may be more frugal with consumables (I am using the original toner, drum, etc. after several reams of paper, many duplexed!) I worked as an IT manager for many years and never gave Brother a chance...My loss! |

Now have 4 of these units in the office. All have worked near flawlessly. Only 2 misfed sheets in 9+ months of use. Suspect paper the culprit. Almost too quiet when not in use. Most think it isn't on. Well thought out design. Easy to setup. Near maintenance free. From cold start to print speed is outstanding. Would gladly buy more if we ever have the need |
