latest member of the D-LinkAir family of competitively-priced wireless networking

The DI-514 combines the proven stability of 802.11b wireless technology and D-Link’s own robust firewall security features. The DI-514 is ideal for those creating their first wireless network, as well as for more advanced users looking for additional management settings and policy-based content filtering. Filters can be set based on MAC address, IP address, URL and/or Domain Name.
A simple yet intelligent, web-based setup wizard makes the DI-514 easy for any user to quickly and securely connect computers to share a high-speed Internet connection, files, resources, games or just to communicate. An integrated 4-port switch allows direct connection of up to four computers. Several wireless clients can also securely connect to the network using 64 or 128-bit WEP encryption.
Additional advanced features include pass-through of multiple concurrent IPSec and PPTP VPN sessions for telecommuters or for anyone who needs to transmit sensitive information more securely.

The Router gets done what needs to be done! If your looking to wirelessly transfer files from one computer to another go with linksys or net gear g routers my internet connection is the same on both computers and once every week or so i have to reset it to get my connection back again! i can work with the little problems so for the price its a good router!

The Price is good , but as I am an IT guy I am not so happy with this D-Link product, I would preffer Linksys. The WiFi quality of this box is not so good , it keeps disconnecting and WEP is hopeless. ( don't even try to activate it). I have switched to Linksys and it works great. If you are getting a Linksys box for a few more $ then go for it. Otherwise D-Link will do for basic use.

I bought this router from a local store, and the router set up easily, it came with no real software to install, so it's mostly plug and play. The issue came a little later when hooking my laptop up to it, i continue to get connection drops, and an IP address conflict, on my PC no laptop. Go with a Netgear router.(54mbps)

The router seemed to overheat or something. It would work for about 15 minutes max and then absolutely nothing worked. I couldn't connect to anything, the dhcp server quit working, the wireless quit working and I couldn't connect to router via a wired http connection. Obviously a defective router. Tried reflashing the firmware to no avail.

After being re-edcuated by a friend on the 'open security' of some wireless networks, I broke down and bought one. The 128bit encryption is great, and I can't live without my wireless! This router is great, best bang for the buck, and my IT friends have been unable to break it's security.
