I didn't realize that I wouldn't need such a high quality cable until after hooking it up and comparing performance. Works great for Blu-Ray, and you could play multiple streams, and dvds along-side and everything runs fine (I have an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT on an Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.4 GHz, with 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM @ 800 MHz, and Vista Basic on one partition, XP Home Edition on another, and Windows 7 Beta on another).
Worked as advertized

What do you expect for a male/male DVI-D cable? It does what it is supposed to do. :)
Works #1 with my Viewsonic Optiquest Q241wb 24'' monitor.
Great buy.

No lies on being shielded. It is thick but works fine with the Ergotron LX Desktop LCD stand. This cable is very hardy and is quality. I have not looked back since I have spent money on our business for DVI, LCDs, and desktop stands. This great combination is what you need to protect your employees eyes and wellbeing. So when you purchase a setup such as that, a quality cable is needed. This one as well as the 6 foot one is perfect according to your needs.

Good price, don't get sucked into the hype for buying overpriced cables. I'm running a GeForce 7600 GS (AGP) into an older NEC LCD1860NX. The difference between a VGA cable and a DVI cable is pronounced in this set-up.
