Amazing card. It is a memory and graphics demanding device though. Not to be unexpected for something that streams 1280p and 5.1 surround though.

Overall this card works very well and is fairly painless to install. Having read the reviews on many competitors HDTV cards, this is apparently not always the case. The auto tuning makes finding local HDTV stations very easy. My system is fairly old: Athlon 64 3700+, 2GB RAM, dual GeForce 6600 cards in SLI mode, WIN XP 2, but the software has no problems and no picture glitches. If there is a downside, the Snapstream Media software is tedious to use and doesn't seem to allow quick 'minimize' of the TV screen like the Sabrent/Phillips setup on my standard PCI TV/FM cards. And it seems you have to 'subscribe' to Snapstream for continued use? That kind of spoils the deal of HDTV for @ $100. I wonder if the TV controls will still work without the subscription??? There seems to be limited info on this in the instructions...

OUTSTANDING I have tried many setups and this one works excellent. You do need more RAM than the manufactuer suggests (1 gig) and at least a 6800 GPU video card. Once I did that the results were as good as my $5000 Pioneer plasma.
HDTV - (High Definition) television monitors reveal either 720 progressive
(720p), or a minimum of 1080 interlaced lines, known as 1080i. An HDTV will
show 540 lines at a time. These resolutions create extraordinarily sharp,
lifelike images as well as the truest and most vivid colors ever seen on
a television screen.
EDTV - stands for Enhanced Definition Television. EDTV monitors display
at least 480 progressive lines (480p). Because EDTV shows more lines simultaneously
than SDTV, its pictures are sharper, richer and more realistic. SDTV - Standard Definition TV is what’s rapidly becoming old-fashioned television.
Although SDTV offers a decent picture we’ve grown accustomed to, it
features up to 480 interlaced lines (480i), but can show only 240 of them
at any given time. Although SDTV produces a sharp picture and good color,
its performance is dramatically inferior to HDTV or EDTV.
