I bought this board 2 years ago and it is still running w/no problems. I had a similar problem with the system not starting with one push of the on button when i first got it. Asus support was no help. (they thought it was the power supply). Turns out just needed to update the bios. However only the latest version worked out the kinks and i had to get it online and flashed through windows xp. Without that option my review would not be so good.

Got mine installed it with a Athlon X2 3800+ with 1.768 gig of memory, I have it running with Windows Server 2003, this is the most stable system i have ever owned, only drawback that i have found is that it doesn't have a rear game port built into the board, but it does have compatibility for a front side game port, but my case doesn't have one, or room. I tried installing Vista Premium, and i had tons of problems so but I'm pretty sure it was the video card. I am using the on board over clocking tool in the bios and i have it at 15% I think and its running very stable at 2.30 Ghz, after reading some other reviews, I'm going to try to go a bit higher.
Pros:Lots of available USB ports, good on board audio, very stable, moderately upgradable
Cons:No built on Game port, Uses slightly older technology,
Overall:Makes a good gaming rig or just a multipurpose work horse. You wont be disappointed

Installed with a AMD dual-core 3800+ and loaded VISTA home, 32bit. ASUS did not provide 32 bit drivers for VISTA and when I wrote to them, they said wait a few months. Luckily, I did get the ethernet port working but the audio was a total loss with no drivers. I finally installed a Vista supported soundblaster. Computer was acting unstable and began rebooting continuously. Removed all software but VISTA and all accessories, kept rebooting. Went backwards to XP and the same. Unhappy with this and will buy from another manufacturer. I've built no less than 30 computers since 1992 and yes, I know what I'm doing.

First of all pay no attention the bunk about this board not being Vista compatible! I have had it my custom box for 3 months now running Vista Home Premium from the beginning! I received this board bundled with an Athlon 64 X2 3800+ and currently have it OC'ed at 2.91GHz and both are steady as a rock! I would venture to say some of those who have experienced issues with this board did not take to read the documentation before installing it. There are these things called jumpers people look into it.
Supports RAID 1 no problem.
The only major drawback i can find relates to it having only 2 SATA 150 connectors.
