Purchased this drive in Dec. I love it. Works great, exspecially when you are replacing an ancient system. The Nreo software is great. Burns faster than I ever thought. Definately worth the money, but being i bought it thru TigerDirect, the price was awesome. Great job TigerDirect. |

I really like the flexibility this drive has to offer. First of all, it burns all popular formats. But secondly, this drive also works with my Mac!! I initially bought this for my home pc to make home movies and do data backup, but last night I got a little adventurous.
I have an iMac G4 and recently, the Superdrive in it died. It won't eject at all. So, I figured I'd disassemble the thing and install this new drive anyways to see if the Mac would at least recognize it and eject. Sure enough, it did!! I just made a home movie on DVD-R and it worked great!
I highly recommend this drive, especially if you're a Mac user looking to replace or upgrade your existing optical drive. |

I've been using NEC DVD burners for a while now, and this drive is a steal at this price. So far it has burned to all media that I've thrown at it, even dual-layer DVDs!

What Is The Difference Between DVD-R and DVD+R? |
| A DVD-R and
DVD+R share similarities in that they are both write-once formats, they
both have single-sided capacities of 4.7GB, they both need finalization
after recording for broad playback, and both can be used for either data
storage or video applications. The major difference is that they are not
interchangeable when it comes to recording. Because each format writes information
to its corresponding disc differently, DVD+R discs must be recorded by
a +R drive or video recorder, and DVD-R discs must be recorded by a -R drive
or video recorder. Once recorded, they share similar playback compatibility. |
